tires for grand wag

Anybody know the maximum size tires that will fit on an '89 without rubbing? Just rebuilt engine so can't afford lift at the moment.....

You can even fit 31"x10.5" tires on 7" rims, if they aren't too large (the sizes they are rated for are nominal, not actual).

i'm running 31x10.5x15 on the standard rims. no problems yet. i hear that 31s can rub if the wag is saggin'. i guess mine isnt.

but i'm still getting the 4" lift kit!

I run 30x9.5 on 15's never have to worry about rubbing and are a little bit bigger than stock tires plus they are "truck tires" so the sidewall is beefier.

Got them for $90 each at firestone.

JAllen Wag......I run 15"x8" with 3.5" Back-space before a got the 2" lift. The tires are BFG 31x10.50x15 AT......I rubber hammered the rear fender lip all the way around the opening for alittle more clearance...You can add a leaf to the front spring(from Junkyard) and buy 2" blocks from Pep Boys for the rear... ;) ;) .....ds..
