Wiring info for Tacho

Well the jolly red chap has been, I got a tacho http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif , but the Haynes manual must still be on the sley(did not arrive in time, much too #2 daughters http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/frown.gif disapointment). Trying to wire in the tacho, got most wires sussed out except for the ignition wire. Would like to make this connection to the connector on the steering column that sits on the column just above the brake pedal. Need to know what colour wire (severn to choose from http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/confused.gif )I should tap into?? It should come from the "ON" side of the ingition switch.
So if anyone has a wiring diagram that will cover a '82 Chero, I would be very gratefull.

10 gage red w/tr wire looks to be the main power on wire, the 10g red wire is power to the switch.

I would hook into the accessory plug connections of the fuse box myself and not disturb the wire that powers most of the jeep! my $.02

Micheal,
Thanks for the reply, tried that wire, but must have something to do with indicaters. Went for a test run and when ever I put the indicators on, we had revs, we had no revs, yes... we have revs, no.. no revs. Finally took your advice and wired it too the fuse box, much better idea. Thanks agian.

I only have 3 of them the others are owned by other family members. We use the colour they are when we talk about them to keep from getting mixed up, the green one the red,black,brown,gold,grey, and black J10
