I was cruising the local yard a while back and saw a A/C compressor in a ford car that I just remembered today, and wanted to ask about it... It doesn't look like the normal yorks that ive seen, it looks like it has 2 pistons in it, sort of a "Y" shape.... anyone know if this will work? anyone know what it is?

the military rims wiht the run flats, etc. are the 16.5", the civilian H2's are 17" rims. go look on ebay in wheels and tires, run a search on "hummer" those rims are dirt cheap, cause all these people that buy the hummers are getting custom wheels, so the dealerships are loaded with them. I've seen a few buy it now prices as low as $185 for a set of 4.

Mikie, do you, or anyone else know if this compressor will work for an OBA setup?

The H2 Hummer wheels have a 4.6" centerhole and a 5.4" backspace... and I dunno about how strong, but I would imagine that going on a hummer, they aren't little daisy rims..

There is a pic of it in my Chilton A/C service manual. :D I am pretty sure it would work if you have the space. For OBA the compressor has to have an oil sump and those do I THINK.

yeah... I think it does too... does your chiltons say anything about checking/refilling the oil in it? wonder what the air volume of it is...
