Quad 4wd issue

Well in going over my new FSJ with a fine tooth comb, I have found that the lever under the drivers side door to go to 4wd Low just flops around. Now maybe thats what its supposed to do while the 4wd is not engaged. Can anyone lend me some knowledge on the working of that lever. Thanks for any help...

underneath the rig will be a connector going from that lever as it comes out to the low range unit on the transfer case. Sounds like yours is missing it.

yep.. missing linkage... or someone has maybe removed your lo range unit on the QT.... they came with and without lo range... yours could have been swapped to one without
