transmission question

hello every one , next dumb question . when I put this here T 18 into my 90 GWAG to replace the 727 will I be able to retain the stock np 229 transfer case or will there be compatabilty problems???? every thing looks ok My particular area of ignorance concerns spline counts and all those vaccum suckers under there.it looks like the trans /transfer case will bolt together. anybody done this ? thanks

Nope, no T18 bolts up the the 229 unless it has aftermarket adapters. The 229 has a 23 spline and the circular pattern. Although 80's and up J20s have the same patten, they have 32 spline outs (or it may be 31?). The earlier T18s have a different bolt pattern.
