Yes, my friends it's a goner. I tackled it Saturday and got that dam thing out. First off my a/c doesn't work and it's so darn rusted that I wasn't even gonna try. I took out all the bolts on the top and started the bottom ones. I thought I had them all, but she wouldn't budge. My friend came by and noticed another one underneath, so I hit that one. Then I tried my sledgehammmer on her and she moved, but not like she was loose. I then knew that I would have to remove the alternator and that's when I saw the last one. I had to remove the hose going into the waterpump there and walla. I got to it and removed a nut! The dam thing was still on there and it was on a stud. Talk about your secure mounts! I had to hit it with the sledge, and use my tie rod fork to wiggle that thing loose some and then it gave up. I was victorious! I still fubared my wrist bone a little. I immediately grabbed the behemoth a/c unit and slammed it to the ground and gave it a kick for good measure(shoulda had boots on ^&$#ouch!

Next job deleting and removing the spaghetti vacuum lines to change my somewhat leaking intake gasket. Then trying to fabricate enough brackets to move the alternator up to the a/c area.
So stay tuned...

That A/C compressor makes a great air-compressor for on-board compressed air.

Seriously, the compressor and brackets are worth $ to other people.

Get the brackets off a NON AC engine, put the Alt up top! No need to make em, unless you feel energetic ;)

Now exactly where can I find a non-a/c engine?
I do plan on keeping these parts for another rust free jeep I'll get in the future.
