I am in the middle of my carb swap, put in an Edelbrock 2131 manifold and a 1406 carb, but now I can't figure out how to get the linkages hooked up again. I think I have got the throttle and cruise figured out, ..... maybe. The main one is the transmission linkage, how do I hook it up?!!!

The stock trans arm should be just long enough to fit. Don't drive around with it disconected.

How did you hook it up? The pin that it was hooked to on the 2150 doesn't come off the old carb, and the pins that came with the new carb are not long enough to go all the way through the bushing on the arm.
Thanks!

As I remember there was a whole on the bottom of the linkage to hook it up. I'll take a look at mine on lunch break to verify. I used a zip tie to conect the cruse linkage to the top ring. I had some plastic hose I slipped over the chain to keep it from getting tangled.

I used a longer bolt and nut with two nuts locked together and a drop of locktight for added security.

Thanks Rob!
That is what I ended up doing. Got it up and going now, runs good. I now have a coolant leak though. I am pretty sure it is leaking past the bolt threads on the front and back, got little green puddles. Think I will worry about that tomorrow, put some RTV on the threads, unless anyone has a better suggestion.

I had simmilar leaks on the 91 and 83. I just torqued the bolts a little more. Because there hard to get to I used the ole double wrench technique to tighten them a little. The rear heater hose and the front coolent bypass hose leaked. I used a 1/4 inch ratchet to tighten the hoses.
