okay heres my question.. i recently did a SOA on my j10 and bought bjs 6 inch lift springs for the rear which were perfect hight. Now after running it for a while i want a little more lift and a little better flex i want 2 to 4 inches more lift i plan on just buying bjs springs upfront to make up for whaterver highth i go out back.
So what are some ideas/ways i can get 2-4 inches of lift and more flex out of the rear? Im running es9000 shocks if that means anything.

Do a shackle reversal in the rear. That will give you about the same lift as a spring over in the front. Then add lift springs to front and rear of your desired height.

Ya you would have to change those springs to shorter ones to keep it from being to high

How hard do you offroad? mud or rock or dunes

its southern oregon so its mainly mud :drivin: with the rare once a year trip to the dunes. Rocks are something i would love to try but havent found any good places to learn:(

Darn Flint, burning the midnight oil, too? I see I was exactly 3 minutes behind you.
Okay, then, now that you're talking about the big lift it already has,

I'm just watching it snow here and wanting to go play...but it's too late (early?) and I've had some adult beverages. No bueno. We got about 7 inches in about two hours here at the house.

For those that have done a shackle flip, how does it ride both on and off of the road compared to the factory setup? I have been told conflicting stories about doing a shackle flip. Also, what about mounting the springs under the frame, how does that compare?

Ok got some pics
list of what i used....
2 feet of square tubing 3.5 inchs 1/4 wall
4-5 feet of 3.5 inch plate steel 1/4 inch
I am also going to add some steel to stop from catching so add on 7-9 more feet of 4" plate steel if you can get it
2 grade eight bolts 4.5 inches
2 grade eight 5 inches
Ok cut square tubing into 6 inch chunks so were easier to handle...cut one side off flush on inside of tubing...then held under origional mount and marked the origional angle...right hand side comes out to be around 3.5 left side is 5 ish....tack welded piece flush with frame....then cut all inside guts out as seen below...then straight edged my whole down...cut tack welds drilled with drill press...then welded in
http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt24/orange-bike/101_0366.jpg
I then took 3.5 plate after complete weld other piece in and flat plated the three sides so it is now one big hanger...(thing i am doing different hopefully next weekend it...i am going to run a plate from bottom of shackle hanger up to the body mount you see in
picture and plate all the way around it...basically box it in...i have had problems catching rocks on the hanger so this will create a kind of slide for me to hit it and rocks cant catch
http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt24/orange-bike/101_0365.jpg
Here is back mount...never had a thought of it breaking...solid welded all the way around...only thing i would and will do different is angle cuts from below the bolt to the top...just for looks perposes so its just not a big square hanging there
http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt24/orange-bike/101_0363.jpg
http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt24/orange-bike/101_0364.jpg
The way mine came out in back with the stock springs and shackles gave me 8 inches of lift so i did soa in front with 1.75 inch actual lift shackles..and i have 1.5 inches of rake from back to front...can get any angle/detailed pic you need as i am around the jeep all weekend
