I am contemplating putting rear disc on my '81 j10 and was wondering if anyone had pics and/or measurments for the bracket(s) required

I'm not sure about brackets, but Stainless Steel brakes sells the entire kit for the FSJ!

OUCH!!!! $795 for the dana 44 did not give option for j10 or amc 20

It shouldn't be that much different, but yes, it's expensive!

BMB, Is that brasket that the caliper is mounted on welded to the axel? also do you fill the holes that are not used on the caliper before drilling new ones?

The Dana 44 and AMC20 brakes will interchange.

When I swapped my AMC20 axle for a Dana 44, I left the original backing plates hanging by bailing wire and bolted them right to the new axle. That way I didn't even have to bleed the brakes.

That's not my axle or site. The guys name is Tom. He is pretty helpful when I have contacted him. If you go his home page and click on his name at the top you can e-mail him. I'm pretty sure the bracket is welded on, don't know about the other.
