Does anyone know what the melting temperature is for standard teflon tape? I want to wrap the male threads on plugs and fittings that go into a 2131 alum. manifold. No problem? Or is there a high temperature teflon tape?

Thanks..figured so. On electric water temperature sensor too (as long as you just cover the threads?).

it will work

yeah that's fine for an intake manifold. You could use anti-sieze compound on the vacuum plugs if you'd like, It might be a bit of overkill to use it. I would not put it in a water jacket.

High melting points (327°C [621°F] for Teflon PTFE; 260°C [500°F] for Teflon FEP, and 305°C [582°F] for Teflon PFA)

I had a tube of high temp pipe thread sealant from Home Depot, so that's what I used.

Don't use it on the temp sensor, it needs to ground through the threads!

I got a couple cans of Rectorseal for free. They use it on LP lines when threading pipes together.
