Joker's '88 GW

After much waiting, my 88 is back on the road as of today!!!
I was under the impression that we had sucked an intake manifold gasket and possibly cracked a cylinder.
Well... I decided that I was going to do some other stuff that needed to be done, like rebuilding the carb.
After rebuilding the carb, I decided to see if she would start at all.
SURPRISE!!! She ran... a little rough at first... Then it idled down and ran smooth! As I was looking around the engine compartment, I saw a horrible sight!! Gas was pouring from the fuel pump!!! I really mean pouring!!!... I happened to have a new fuel pump that was bought, but never put in sitting in the parts box. I pulled the original pump and found that I could twist the pump at the middle... This was not good.
When I finally got the new one installed, the first thing I noticed was the the rod knock that was haunting this truck suddenly was gone!!! It was the pump that was the problem, not rod knock!
We still have some minor electrical problems, but she is running and since I have had my knee replacement surgery, it will be a pleasure to drive an automatic!
Just wanted to give an update to anyone that remembers what I originally posted a few months ago!
