no power

Good morning guys and gals.
I've got a question, my truck doesn't have any power in drive,seams like its stuck in third gear .It has a 727 auto in it with a 360 powering it.How could I check this. IT runs fine on the road but has no getup and go. If I put a good size rock under the front tire and try to drive over it (bout the size of a cinder block) it just will not crawl over it, wont even spin a tire and I'm on grass.I only have 31'' tires. Now if I put it in 4lo it will crawl over a freight train. Might be a simple problem but I'm not a trans person----yet.:confused:

Is your kickdown linked up to your throttle? If not, that could the problem for the slug like power. Have you also Checked your emerg. Brake? It may be engaged. Hope you find the problem.

does the engine rev up when you try to climb the rock, or just bog?

it just bogs down, I'm sure its not an engine problem because its got plenty of power in reverse and in low range,just not in drive. Also does'nt seam to make any difference from drive to 1/2/ on the PRND123
