I have looked and couldn't find these,so made some and I think they turned out pretty good. Time will tell how good they are, the material is from a previous car interior project, rear shelf I think. Might make a bunch if any interest. http://s903.photobucket.com/albums/ac234/bufurd-2010/1970%20progress/

Looks good, What is the donor, and also what is the thickness of your glass.
I have the thin glass in the thick slider, so there is some rattle, and will be interested in doing something similar.

You talkin' bout the window channel?

Yes, the channel in the wing window, did the pics work? I didn't realize the difference in channel widths and glass thickness, I looked at my 69 and 73, (don't know what year doors on 73), they do appear to be different?. The pics are of a 70. Cut a strip 1/4" wide from floor material and glued aprox. 7/8" wide strip of clothlike material to it and pressed it in, all old original stuff has to be removed.

BJ's isn't listing a different channel for different years, so I assumed they are supposed to be the same. Is is possible it was just worn more on one than the other?
What kind of cloth did you use?

Around 79ish AMC decided to install thinner glass to save $$ and weight. I have both glass, but out of the country for some time to be able to measure the difference.
The new metal channels are only for the thinner glass, if you have the thicker glass you need to use silicone or caulk instead of the provided rubber gasket, same for the tailgate, the older glass is thicker.

I broke out my caliper and measured up the old ones and ordered those felt lined channels from JC Whitney...Had to cut and redrill all the holes and use new pop rivets to attach everything, but worked very well and stopped the annoying whistle I had to listen to while on the road.

I used the "loop" side of Velcro on mine. No binding and it's still there.

I really like the loop side of velcro idea, self sticky and made out of pretty good stuff, probably get it in the correct width,
