I just installed a AGR box last weekend. No play at all!!

Basically as it is right now, with all new front end components, with the engine running, right when you turn the steering wheel just a little, you can see the tires move instantly. I know it needs a little breakin, but I like! real easy to turn my 32s even without rolling.

I havent driven it much yet, so I cant tell you how much better it is (but it is alot better than the worn out box I had. But the install when well, really easy, no problems.

Be sure you get the one with variable ratio though (no the offroad only one).

You can rebuild your steering box for about $40 and a few hours of time. The slop in the steering can be eliminated with a sector shaft adjustment, which is the allen screw with jam nut pointing up out of the top of your gearbox, as long as you haven't already adjusted all of the lash out of it.

Ap90c,
I have had the AGR gearbox and power steering pump for about two years now. I run 35x14.50x15 Super Swamper Boggers on my rig which is also my daily driver. I have had no problems with the set up and it works great. I would recommend it but it is a little pricey. If you wanted to go the less expensive route, you could rebuilt the stock box yourself in a few hours time. Pretty easy to do. It will give basically the same effect except the AGR box(the one I got at least) has some sort of reduction set up in it so that with stock tires on the rig, the wheel is harder than normal to turn. This is so when you upgrade to larger tires, it equals out and the wheel is a "stock" feel when you drive rather than a squirlly feel that most people get when they upgrade the tires but not the steering system.

I went with the AGR super box 2 about 3 years ago for my CJ and LOVE IT!! Kept my factory pump, no problems at all. At the time is was about $50 more than a reman, which IMO are junk. Went through a reman in less than a year, than went for the AGR. Been extremely happy with it!!!!! Can't say enough about it. I'd plop the cash down and be done, no more messing around. ;)
