Does anyone have a good setup procedure for setting the pinion bearing preload and pinion nut torque. I have replaced both bearings on the pinion and will use the original shims behind the big bearing race that controls the pinion mesh into the ring gear.
I have also replaced the wheel bearings on this rear axle and am wondering what the end clearances and preload on these bearings should be, the book I am using is not detailed enough to set up this rear end properly.
Also need the ringear backlash tolerances, my book says .005--,009 just like to confirm that with someone who knows.
