IS THERE AN EASY WAY TO CHECK THE PROPER OPERATION OF THE 229 T CASE? MOUNTED IN THE VEHICLE, DRIVING TEST.

If the light in the dash doesn't work, you should be able to turn really sharp at idle speeds and feel the front end bind and dig a little as the front axle is trying to pull the Jeep forward. It isn't as noticeable with the 229 as it is with a part time case like a 208 or Dana 20 because of the viscous coupler but it is still there.

Agreed. Also, you can shift it into low range, too. Then it will be REALLY obvious. :p
