I'm in Concord. Had a 69 J3000 about 10 years ago, and since then a string of XJs. Wouldn't mind lending a hand if you need it.

Hey y'all- does anybody recommend a Jeep Shop anywhere between the Bay and Sac? I've got a long list of fixes I need, and no time to pull 'em off... Just looking for a point in the right direction. Thanks

I suggest Nick at S&H 4 Wheel Drive in Sactown as well as my brother Ray's shop at J&W Jeep in Antelope.
Of course Ray is better than Nick's guys, and that's not family talking. He is just plain GOOD at wrenching Jeeps.
I don't let anyone work on my stuff but him if I can't or don't want to handle it myself.
Dusty can vouch for him as he had Ray do alot of stuff to his Scrambler and Cherokee prjects.
He has a former Jeep shop tech/buddy who lives in Vacaville with a fully equipped shop at his ranch that can handle everything you might need. His name is Roger and he's good peeps as well.
Let me know if you want the contact info.
JMedia: OH, and yeah, I'd be down for a cruise over a day or two if I am still in the valley by then.

Dudes thanks for the leads- if you've got it please send Roger's contact info to me @ drewyoming@gmail.
On an unrelated subject, anybody had any luck with throttle-body injection on a 360? I think the intake manifold is single-plane and that may need to change, but my old carb is on it's last legs I think and I'm looking for other options...

you can run tbi on a single plane intake. but if you have factory then it should be dual plane.
get the tbi wiring harness off ebay for $230.00
check out binderplanet.org for a great tbi forum that has all the answers on a basic tbi conversion. if you need CARB approved howell works ok, for bolt on consider later on doing you own tuning and chip burning . mailing the chip back and forth is a real pain. id recommend spark control when you do it

Thanks for the point to binderplanet- great step by step walk-through. I found some other suggestions online for Howell TBIs, so clearly I've got some choosing to do. Definitely going to go with a full setup- both spark control and FI. Thanks again for the advice!
