Has anyone on here put any sort of hood scoops on their FSJ's? If so add pics if you have any...

I remember someone posting a link to http://www.carhoods.com/ when someone was looking for a fiberglass hood, I don't know if anyone has used one of these before though.

I've been thinking of adding this one to a hood but not sure how it will look.

I saw a 78ish Wag out at the beach with a cowl hood Saturday. I couldn't tell if it was a graft or a whole hood though. Either way it looked good.

I do remember back when I first found this site (2001 I think), there were a few folks that had louvered their hoods...to help exhaust the hot under-hood air I guess. Some were tastefully done and looked good...a few others weren't...

I've been thinking of either a 70's ford, or a duel snorkel from a 70's car.

someone on here orderd a hood from there and said it was complete junk it need a whole bunch of fiberglass work and the gel coat needed redone and for 400 dollars its not worth it.

That was Millerluck, here in Michigan. He bought the US Body Source cowl hood for FSJ's. It was egg shellishly delicate and never ended up on his GW. Oh, and their disclaimer to buyers was that if you sneezed on it and it cracked, that it's your problem.

Cryin shame about that cowl hood too, because it looked pretty darn good. Once I get this rig running right, I intend to turn my eye to body work. A cowl hood is on the list of things to 'make happen.'

yeah that was me.....It might end up on the '89. Going for a bomber look with flat black someday down the road. It just was not nice enofe for my '88. My brother and I spent to much time on it to cap it off with $$$$ junk.

I was always thought a Shaker hood would be super cool.

It'd be sweet to mount a working cowl scoop like the one on my dad's 80 Z28. Having the flaps flip open every time you stomp on the gas makes it a blast to drive...probably wastes a lot of gas too :D

For a long time, I've been thinking about a 440 with it's Shaker. But I think ANY Shaker would be a sweet visual - and functional - piece of eye candy.

I hope there is a turbocharged engine under the hood to make this swap worth it.

There's still a couple companies that make blower intakes for AMCs
