I was pulled over because the cop told me I;
-Failed to maintain speed
-Failed to maintain lane
And he said I was only going 60 MPH at the fastest...
The speedo said 70. So I guess I have been going slower than I thought. And the steering drifts off to the side, he had a good eye.
lucky he didn't see me passing: (link down below)

lol.. woops. It's probably the tires [maybe] that make you think you're going faster. Also, in retrospect, you weren't even going the speed limit in those videos. lol

Probably matters that I'm running Daton Thoroughbred tires on the passenger side, a Wrangler RT/S on the front, and AT on the back.

Strange. When I had the same size tires on my 87, it would read fast like that. After I put 31x10.50x15 on, GPS reported correct speed.

lol, yeah; matching tires help with being pulled one way or the other; I would guess the Jeep pulls the direction of the least off-road tires.

Did the cop ask how you would go that fast in an ugly rig that does not have a turbo engine????
I hope that the ticket was not too severe.

So did he write you up for something, or was he just trying to see if you were intoxificated?

What was the speed limit? The interstates around here have a minimum speed of 45 with the limit at 65.

I say it was gnomes, holding onto the end of the speedo needle with some fishing line. They're tricky like that.

what are you geared at? When I went to bigger tires I was reading slower than actual speed on my Speed-O until I regeared, now I read 2-3 miles faster than I'm actually going with 33x12.50's. I get a little wandering around on the freeway, but that's with no sway bars or track bars.

The story behind this: I was leaving Carson after my last class of the week. Then, I suddenly thought of the gas cap I may have left behind at the gas station. I lost my first one Wednesday, so I got a second one from the Pnp. I turned off to a side road, and got out. Luckily I put the cap back on, And as I left I pulled a U-turn and seen the cop. Once I got back on to the highway, he came after me pretty quickly. I was already down the highway when I seen his lights pull up next to me. There is a pair of bridges that I drift off to the right to avoid hitting the bumps, he seen that. Then he pulled behind me and lit me up.
I told him I had a pair of safety scissors...
After he let me go, I seen him 20 minutes later. And whudda know? he pulled someone else over! He was on a roll.

CJ - You are risking shortening the life of your viscous coupler when running that NP229 in 4hi with the tires mismatched like that.

Yeah, I know about that. But my hubs were unlocked though, does that make any difference? The only time I lock the front hubs are when I take it off road.ANYTIME YOU ARE IN 4HI and on any sort of hard surface you will have the different tire diameters working against the coupler. When I say that, I am assuming you have the hubs locked. ;) If you put it in 4HI and have the hubs unlocked, be ready to find another tcase.
