Theres a great story on how I came to be the owner but it's long and drawn out so I won't bore you with it. Plus that, it's only exciting for the owner but we think everybody else wants to hear it.

Extremely clean with only 34,434 original miles, original paint, motor, ect. This baby is immaculate. Everything works and looks like brand new. Drove it back to L.A. (1,000 miles) straight thru. No problems. Will post pics later. It's white with tan interior so I named it the "albino rhino". Even got the original window sticker in mint condition. I'm stoked!!!

Heck, WE want to hear the details! It gives us ideas for our own FSJ-hunting. Sounds like you've come up with a Wagonmaster-quality rig (hopefully for less than Wagonmaster-quality prices). Good catch!

saw it online with auto trader on friday morning. called every hour friday, saturday (came in early from kayak fishing to call) and sunday. sunday afternoon i plugged in the phone # on the internet and a guys name shows up. called information and got his home # and left him a message. he called back late sunday afternoon. scrambled to get a flight from L.A. to portland oregon. arrived in portland sunday morning 12:30 am. took a taxi ride that was suppose to be a little more than an hour but ended up being 4 hours. guy got lost-meter read $342.00 but we settle for what he quoted me at the start. arrived in lincoln city oregon at 5:00 am. 30 degrees and windy with me in just a long sleeve shirt. froze my Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley off waiting for something to open in this little town. walked the streets for an hour with $$$$$$ cash in my pocket until a breakfast place opened. hung out there for 2 1/2 hours until the guy opened his shop. up all sunday nite. saw the wag, bought it and headed back to L.A. with the rig. got home 4:00 am tuesday morning. no sleep for 2 nites, lots of seeds and coffee. the guy was selling it for the widow of the owner and she was near death also. car hadn't been driven since who knows when. plates expired in 9-99. i had to have it and had to be creative to be the first one there. it is REALLY sweet. i'd been looking for months and even posted here a couple of times.

long but you asked for it.

Well, i think congradulations are in order :D :D Anybody with that much stamina deserves a mint rig. I am sure the rig has found a good home and equally sure you have found a good rig. Take care of each other ;)

gearhead just has to know how much...$7,500.00
didn't try to talk them down, it is a great deal. i even went to arizona to look at one a couple of weeks ago that was suppose to be "pristine"..yeah right, nice but not pristine or even excellent condition. i'm tough to please and i'd give this wag a 9 out of 10 maybe 9.5. my fiance says she gives it a 10 and she's been looking with me, even to arizona. she knew this was the one and didn't even need to go.

Congratulations!
I also hunted long and hard for an 8 or 9. When I found it (89 with 60,000 mi) 4 years ago I gave almost the same. It took a lot of abuse including hauling my 6000lb boat before I got my 3/4 ton, and 60,000 miles later it must have fallen to a 6. Thanks to these guys on the board, It's moving up rank faster than it fell! Good luck. smile.gif
