I don't have many ideas why, but my J-10 seems to not have much power in 2wd (drive and especially reverse) and even not a whole lot in 4-hi. 4-lo isn't bad, but you would expect that. It has always been like this, but for example, she had been sitting in my backyard for a month + some while I found time to replace the ignition. Well when it came time to move her, I had to give it close to full throttle to get her out of the little "indentations" she was sitting in.
I don't think it is the engine, it runs very well. It's almost like somethings slipping. Could it be the torque converter or transmission? BTW I have a 3 speed auto, which I believe is the 727.

Hey maybe ya shredded one tire to many! :D Sounds like the trany is slipping. Check fluid level, does it smell burnt, dark in color. If you are not sure, take it in and have a trans shop check it out for you. may only need to be adjusted.

LOL
Well, it's out at my grandpa's for the time being but whenever I get the chance I'll check out the fluid. I should probably change the filter while I'm at it, then just change the fluid and see if it helps. Thanks for the reply Crazy.

rear brakes/e brake frozen?

I know it's not the rear brakes. The e-brake is broke but I'm pretty sure it's not stuck on, and it would have worn it out by now.
