Anybody here bought these? Im about to drop the hammer on recovering the seats, and Im really looking for opinions. These really look nice, if I buy these I will retain my stock GW buckets. If I go with something else, I have a really comfy, sporty set of buckets from an 03 Subaru Im going to install.
Lookin for some input...

I think Cu4whln used them in his famous Cherokee build:

I knicked this pic out of another thread...

I had a local company replace the fabric interior of my G8 with Katzkin leather. Been about 2 months - no complaints yet. They look like factory and seem to fit perfectly.

I know this is an old post but wondered if you can assist.
I have been trying to find covers for my 1984 vehicle for ages, I am interested in your post with the photo of Katzskin Covers in this Cherokee rebuild just wondered where you located the thread picture as my front seats are identical to those pictured.
They are not a wagoneer seat but I am guessing they are a Jeep CJ Wrangler YJ 1976 -1990 seat. I am hoping BJ's can supply the same Katzskin covers to Sydney.
Cheers Tony

while ive never used Katskinz I have heard from a lot of guy who have uses their product on other vehicles and loved them. Supposedly very easy to install and high quality. The price is a bit high for me but I may end up recovering my back seats with them.

Ryan many thanks for your post
My front bucket appear to be a standard high bucket jeep seat, similar to the "Madness" front seat I have emailed the owner of madness to find out a description of the front seat no reply yet. My guess is a cherokee or J10 1983 seat.
Can anyone help here someone must have a seat like mine in there fsj.?
Not convinced its an XJ seat but then again I havnt seen an xj seat.
Here are some web sites to get an idea of the shape of the seat. Can take some more shots of the seat if that assists it appears a little deeper than a wrangler 1976 - 1990.

The back is a wagoneer fsj bench seat that parts easy.
Hope you can assist in this requirement would Katzkin be able to clarify the seat used in the Madness restoration. it did hit the magazines.
I have the Katzskin colour chart here in Sydney so if we can define the front seat the rest should be straight forward.
Really appreciate some help here. The old girl would look great with new seat covers.
Also do you have any experiece shipping parts from WA to Sydney by sea.? could be in the market for some springs.
Cheers Tony

Many thank for comments todate.
I still think these front seats of mine are a stock Jeep seat from an early 1980's fsj am I right.?. They are a manual seat, with the forward and back leaver being at the front of the seat.
Just wondered if anyone owning an fsj pre 1984 has seats like these if so what vehicle do you have. Need a description in order to get new covers made in the US.
More Pictures of my front seats out of my 1984 FSJ Cherokee Ltd in Australia but to all intense and purposes a wagoneer.
High Reclining Bucket appears at first glance similar to the Jeep 1976 - 1990 CJ Wrangler YJ seat

Didn't his build thread say that they were TJ seats? I want to say thats what I remember, lots of pages to go through to confirm that though.

I have looked at the tj on the web and it is certainly that shape, you may well be on the right line. Has anyone else got a tj seat in their fsj.

They aren't Jeep seats. That big know for the recline is a dead give away.
Aftermarket replacement on what looks like stock bases.

Yeah I've never seen factory front seats like that in an FSJ.

I am 90% sure that Jim put JK seats along with the JK center console in Madness.
I guess it is possible that Jeep put some different seats in the Aussie model, but I have not seen seats like that as OEM in any FSJ in US or European versions.
It looks like someone redid your interior to compliment the exterior paint job. Looks like they did a really nice job quite a while back. Your seats have what looks like an incline adjustment knob on the outside.
I am going to guess they are either aftermarket seats or they are from an older European car.

Guys thanks for advice so far.
I now realize that Jims thread about madnes is 46 pages, he has some great photos of his seats and the Katzskin covers.
I have just posted a thread to the Ausjeep site with pictures of my seats it could be that this is an Australian factory installed seat in Brisbane prior to original sale.
I will post Jims seat pictures to this thread as it may be useful info for those wanting new covers. To have custom seat covers made in Aus you have to sell your house and the kids to pay for them.
If I can define the seat Katzskin appears a sensible option.

The first time I saw Katskinz was on Overhaulin'. They look really sweet. They will make a great finishing touch. Its only a matter of time and I'll know my credit card info from memory from calling BJs so much. ;)

These are the seat pictures of Katzskin covers Jim Posted in his Madness restoratation thread.
I think they give a good account of Katzskin Covers. Jim installed front TJ Jeep seats in his vehicle, the rear seat appears to be a stock fsj rear bench.
TJ seats are a 1997 seat looking at the web. My vehicle is a 1984.
I have now definately concluded that my front seats are stock Cherokee Ltd Seat 1983 - 1984 in Australian Vehicles with other FSJ' owners of the era having the same seat either with leather uppers or cloth covered.
sounds like an Aussie installation, although I cant understand why they would have shipped vehicles out from the us and then changed the front seats. Very strange.
That then leaves me wondering if Katzskin are going to have pattern for the my front seats .
Although very close to a TJ seat it is does not look identical.
Web site for an example TJ seat.
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/jeep-seats/index.htm
Does anyone have any thoughts on where to go from here.? Need some advise.?
Option 1 buy a cheap tj cover from us and see if it fits.
Option 2 buy new tj seats from us and get new Katskins to fit new fronts(time and Money)
Option 3 see if Katzskin can match a pattern for my front seats
Ryan of BJ's would kATZSKIN have a pattern for my front seats maybe we should take one of the covers existing covers off and send it to Katzskin to look at.
Cheers Tony
