For future reference, it takes all of 10 seconds and a wire coat hanger to jimmy the lock on these.:D

I keep a wire coat hanger stashed on the undercarriage for just such an occasion.
I don't lock my truck. Nothing in it to steal and who would want to steal it?

Wow. And you broke one of the hardest windows to replace.
I won't make fun of you. I did some stupid things when I was younger, too. But lets not talk about that....
Go to Ace Hardware and get yourself an extra set of keys and one of those magnetic key holders. Put the door lock key in there and you're set. Even if a thief finds it, they still can't start the truck easily, so hopefully they'll move on to an easier target.

Do you mean hard to trace, or hard to install? and my ignition is so jacked up, a thief can hop into my truck. And without a key, turn the ignition, and drive off...

But now I have to ask, what makes removing the window assemblies difficult? It looks as though screws hold the top rail in place, then three screws hold in the vent assy., then it looks like a pull-and-replace procedure from there.

Sorry, yes. Hard to install. You have to remove the main window first. It's more of a PITA vs. the main window.

Don't feel too bad about it... learning experience, right? I'll admit to having busted in a window to get into a car. Though admittedly it was when I was drunk, and I used a fist instead of something more sensible. *winces*
Hindsight may be perfect, but when that isn't available its always worth thinking twice about. ;)

My "key" (pliers) are on the seat. IF anyone can get it started, they better figure out how to turn the fuel pump on as well or they aren't getting 1/2 a block in my J10. Locking the doors makes no difference, anyway. The passenger door won't open (wedged shut by a rather large boulder) and the window that CJ broke can't be locked (handle/lock disappeared about a year ago).

best way to unlock it is to take the antenna off a nearby chevy and bend it to open the locks screw the coat hanger :fsj:

you could open the wing window with visecrips unless youve got kungfoo grip with plires... clamp down on the outside little knob for the wing window from the outside and turn slowly back and forth till it pops off the rail inside and your in.. did this to my chevy truck and my semi ive loocked myself outta both more than once lmao
