hood release broken...lil help?

hood release cable broke and all wires pulled through the firewall and are inside engine bay. Any ideas on how to open the hood without it? Thanks!!

You could try going underneath and pull the cable if you can find it.

put a long screwdriver into space between hood and grille, and push on the gray/black flat part of the yellow latch mechanism. this should open the hood.

Ive given that a try. What is left of the cable is hanging out of the hood on the drivers side :/ God knows how it got there. When I pull on it, nothing happens. The cable is hung up on something...that I cannot see.

baaa. Could not find such a thing. Standing at the middle of the car and looking through the grill, I can see the safety catch right of center of grill hanging down. But I cannot see the latch mechanism itself. Cheap paint job with lots of overspray may be obscuring the details of the latch... :(

About a foot over from the drivers side fender, look through the gap and maybe try poking around, when you fineally find some it might help to push down on the hood a little bit while pushing on the latch towards the rear of the vehicle. If you still can't find it give me an email and I will go out and get a precise measurement of where to push.
