Does anyone know who makes lockable gas cap for 87 grand wagoneer?

both my wags have lockable gascaps. not sure who makes them both. most likely aquired by the po.And they are both different. any decent auto parts store should have one for you.

I had a lot of trouble finding one for my '84. I discovered that the cap was the same as the one on my '87 Wrangler, and the listings for the caps had ones for the Wrangler, but didn't list the Wagoneer. So I just bought the one listed for a Wrangler, and it worked fine. Not saying this is necessarily the case for an '87, but look into it.

I needed a locking gas cap for my 91 and this is what I found and posted. I did this back in February.

Well I checked Advanced Auto Parts, Autozone, Pep Boys and ABC Discount Auto Parts for the locking gas cap and found that none of them carry it. What I did find is Discount Auto Parts (http://www.discountautoparts.com/) (use the online catalog to drill down to the parts, use Gas Cap for part description) carries three different locking caps (two for evaporative emission (EE) controls and one without).

Ya know, the only reason I use a locking cap, is because Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogleyholes keep stealing the regular caps... forget taking any gas... just take the cap! :mad:

Be sure you gas cap venting or nonventing is correct. Two way vented gas caps on Wagoneers will spill alot of fuel on the the trail... it's not a pretty sight to see. To check and be sure fill up your tank and then park on a steep uphill incline. Check the cap and filler pipe for leaks. At Ouray there are a few short 40+ degree climbs.. ;) .. ds..
