Just yesterday I took possession of a set of wheels for my upcoming axle swap. I paid $100 sight unseen, they even include center caps. I was informed that they were 8 inches wide, yet upon examining them myself I found that they were only 7 inches wide, with 3 1/2 inch backspacing. They do still however hold potential. With that said, what's the widest tire one can fit on a 7 inch wheel? I plan to run at least a 35 or 36. At the moment I'm unsure about using them and opting to still get a set 8 wide. Any thoughts, here is a pic.http://i634.photobucket.com/albums/uu70/Wagn_Man/Photo029.jpg

idk it would depend on the tire and i dont think any shop will mount a 1250 or bigger on a 7 inch wide.

Ive been hoping for a 12.50 but have recently come across a set of 36x10.50 or 11.50 That shouldnt be a problem should it?

Im running 12.50 on my 8' Laredo wheels no problem. Ive been told no more than a 4' difference in the wheel to tire width. And if your about an inch or so off you will have to run a lower tire pressure to keep tread wear even.

12.5 is a squeeze on a 7" rim and a challenge to keep a good wear pattern. The 10.5 or 11.5 should be mighty fine.
