Hey guys, long time no talk, but I have a question for y'all...

Ok, so, once I've got my FSJ started and running, the manifold, where the 3rd and 4th cylinders are located start to glow. My father can adjust the air pump over them, and actually watch the glow go away. We theorize, that this is also why we see smoke around that area, from any fluids that happen to accumulate. Anyone know whats going on? And what we can do to fix it? Thanks for your help!

Cory...
... Exhaust headers can get hot enough to ignite power steering fluid. Exhaust headers can get over 1,200 degrees and need to be cooled.
… Some vehicles exhaust headers get so hot at highway speeds or continuos power they will glow. Some nice warm evening get the truck good and hot then pull over where it’s dark, quickly turn off the engine and pop the hood and look.... When you enter city traffic after a high speed run it takes a long time to cool the exhaust headers with the reduced flow of air. So the header feeds back the heat.

...The best words about this is to carry some Fire Extinguishers

I used to have a menu and recipes for manifold cooking but can’t find it now.

Good Luck ;) and CUL.. Don S..
