One of the inspectors on our laboratory project was rear ended last week. It is a 96 with a 350 and a 4spd auto, he believes they will total it due to the mileage (134K) and the age. I asked him to get the buy back figure if he they totaled it.

Is the automatic computer controlled?

What transfer case will bolt to it with a passenger side drop?

yes if it is a 1/2 ton it will be the 4L60E upgrade 700r if it is a 3/4 ton it should be the 4L80E elec computer controled th400 4 spd how many lugs on the wheels ????? there were light duty 3/4 with 6 lugs and the 96 is the first year of the vortec my 96 has 280,000 miles on it and still gets 22 mpg in a 3/4 hd 4x4

Yes, it should be computer controlled, a 4L60E I believe. Since you have to change the output anyway(it was a two wheel drive, right?) set it up for an NP208. A mid 80's GM 208; pretty strong, cheap and easy to find.

if it is 4x4 then it will have a 241 driver drop if it is the 4L80E then it will be the same out put as the th400

It's a two wheel drive 1/2 ton. And I'm not opposed to using the a TH400 (I have 2) hooked to the Quadratrac (I have 2, one PT). I do want to make sure I can use the fuel injection without complications.

NP208...FSJeeper may have a few of those.

You can get a whole new wiring harness from painless for the fuel injection only then just use a th400 much stronger/more reliable than the 4l60e just the 400 dont have overdrive in it and a 400 you can bolt to most any t case
