I need to know what I need to get to convert a standard W/T front Dana 44 to an 8 lug Heavy Duty version? Where can I get these parts? Also, I am still looking for a W/T Dana 44 and have a post in the "Wanted" section called, "I Need A Front Dana 44 Axle". If you have one or a HD version of one, please e-mail me. I really need to get this axle build up going. It needs to be done and installed before the OURAY!!! Thanks.

Sorry, but you really can't convert a standerd 44 to a HD, well all the way that is. Part of what makes a HD, an HD is the housing tubes. The HD housing tubes are about a 1/2 inch thick, but on the bright side if you want to convert your 44 to 8 lugs, that should,nt be a problem. I think, all you should have to do is get the spindles, hubs, and stubb shafts from a HD doner. This would give larger spindles, bearings, and stubbs. Thats a good up grade, but if you find all that, the housing could'nt be that far away, and it would be easer to swap the entire axle. The carriers are not any differnt than whats in your standard(providing its fine splined), and even if they are, the ring gears will inter change. Hope this helps, and you find what you need.

From what I understand all you need to convert to 8 lug is the rotor, hub assembly and caliper bracket, everything else is the same. But I think you said you want a seprate axle to SOA and what not so maybe the HD ch*by is the way to go.
