Am I correct here? Was the 1st IFS Jeep a Wagoneer? Early production years (63-64)? Trying to get my facts straight. Wasn't there an earlier model, perhaps military-only, smaller, that was IFS?

yup, i believe it was the first factory IFS 4x4 ever. but not the first IFS in a jeep, that belongs to the early willys utilty wagons, they used a planadyne IFS system.

Wasn't the M151 the 1st jeep to have IFS (and IRS for that matter). I know it was military but that began in1951. What year did the wagons 1st have IFS?

Your 1951 date for the M151 is way too early. The M38 was still in production in 1951, followed by the M38A1 in 1952. The M151 was introduced in the '60s to replace the M38A1, but it was not built by Jeep Corporation.

m151 was released in 1959, and technically not a jeep (it was designed by ford) i believe all early 2wd wagons where IFS 46-55?

The Wagoneer was the first ever IFS 4x4. ;)

Ford designed the M151 and contracts were awarded to them, AM General and Kaiser. 1959-82

They suck. I hated them.
