I wasn't sure if I should put this in the Wanted section or not, I kinda felt it was an offroad question since I want to do my entire 69 in it....everything

Where can I get it in bulk? Maybe a 5 gallon can? I searched but found no reliable source that wasn't 4 middle men deep lol.

Thanks for the responses.

Gillespie (sp?) is the supplier all the guys on the M715 zone like, IIRC. Pop over there and take a look around. It comes up often enough.

Aervoe is another supplier, but their paint fades. At least in the CO sun, it will.

Thanks for the tip. My vehicle will often see the Arizona sun so that wouldn't be a great option.

Thanks

This paint, if I remember right, is the exact or really close to the formula used during WWII and Korea. http://www.armyjeepparts.com/ . Click on "GCI Paint"

Any automotive paint will work. Just buy flatner and add it into the paint prior to spraying. You can adjust it to a satin finish to a flat very easy. Just another option...

i have used xo-rust its a cheep brand of paint i think it sells for $15 a gallon. it can be mixed to any color at your local hardware store i put it on a old trooper project and it held on even after rubbing on a tree. i used a cheep sprayer but when i worked at true value some people told me that you can thin it 50% and roll it on to a very smooth finish.

O' I'm sure they have :D . The early WWII paint is already a flat paint so no need for a flattener. It's a bit pricey but it's a dead on match for the military jeeps.

Thanks for the link :D

I wonder how much paint it would take to do my entire wagoneer including the interior areas (dash, around the doors, engine bay, etc)...

Anyone here a painter? :D

Thanks.

When I painted my Wagon, I bought one gallon and shot two or three coats. I can't remember how many coats, it was 10 years ago. Two gallons would diffinitely cover it inside and out and probably have plenty left over.

One gallon of the GCI will cover an entire FSJ with leftovers! Take a look at my build post for pics of the color.
