So... Whats on your 2do list for your Jeep?

Just curious if everyone's list is as long as mine... Share your 2do lists and plans for your rigs here...

Mine:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AuL2Np3tEZZUdDM3dWdsZ3pNbG13Nk8zZmxKM0prV 3c&hl=en

Kind of seems like it never will be done :( . Then again everything shows up as "not started" because I just made a new list... The old one got cluttered up with too many "completed" things :)

Not all FSJ, but I have 7 sets of wheels on the ground here, and I know exactly what you are talking about.

and yes, the Jeep list is long enough. Its kinda in flux inside my head right now, and I am balancing what should be done against what needs to be done right now. I can get the Big Dog out from under the snow now, and just got a timing belt put on the baby diesel, so that heater core has got to go!

gracious, my list is a mile long.

shorten and install tad rack
install dual battery setup
install CS144. volt meter too
install BeCool Radiator
fix horn
fix passenger lock
relocate A/C condensor, vacuum and charge system
fix heater/defrost (it doesn't change between the two)
fix rear window (it works but there is a missing bolt i need to find)
Install second gas tank
Install CB
Install remote winch plug in back (after I get a reciever back there)
Replace pie pans with lights.
license plate lamp - need to order
rear tail light lense - need to order
Drill and tap wheels to mount jeep caps (I have two done)

Better secure the diamond plate panels in the back or possibly replace (they vibrate when the stereo is on)
replace oil pan gasket
find the rest of the oil leaks

I want to do something in the front/back for receivers. I can't use the stock hitch since I have the shackel flip. Well, maybe I can but I will have to modify it. I would like to go with some after market or custom bumpers. Short term I need some type of attachment point.

I just did my first to-do on my new-to-me J-10. Fix the radio installation (bad ground, easy fix). So now I can get tunes and I have a functioning clock.

After that:

Vacuum tune the engine. The idle and timing are probably off.
Fix the vacuum leak that's not letting me switch from heat to defrost
Install a trailer hitch
Get carpet and install it
Replace the bouncy bench seat with some decent bucket seats and a center console
Install a CB radio
Get a spray-in bedliner
Buy a truck box
Install a 4" lift
Do the 5.3/4L60 swap which will include regearing the axles and putting on bigger tires.

Wow... Long list of major projects!

I remembered a few more to add to my list this afternoon. :banghead:

Yea, i figure if I get about 5 more full time jobs I should be able to afford it all within about 5 years lol....One step at a time and most important first. I should have everything I need for the motor within a week, and then its onto winch and then front locker and after pondering it long enough, I have decided instead of a doubler, Im going to save a little longer and go with an Atlas 5.0:1 t-case. In the long run I dont think its that much more expensive. But before the gearing comes the cage....I really really need a cage.

save $$ for cage
build bumpers
steal someone's winch and put it on my truck
take it out and see what explodes
try to fix what explodes
get upset and try to sell since it broke
realize I'm a weenie and keep it and break it again.

Finish sourcing parts.
Install Rusty's 4in lift springs (junkyard score, 26 bucks a piece)
SPOA, High Steer equip on its way Soon.
Install 1977 Waggy D44's with Mini Spools Front and Rear.
Pull Engine/Trans/Transfercase and clean, disassemble, inspect, paint, reassemble and reinstall. (engine has less than 50,000 original miles so it just needs gaskets and paint basically....maybe do the buick oil pressure fix mods)
Pull Gas tank, clean and paint, new fuel lines stem to stern.
Bleed brakes/new fluid.

Then do all the little stuff I want to the interior, exterior, weatherstriping, onboard air, 2 batteries, cage and rock sliders, redo All the wiring with an 8 or 10 circuit painless style setup, ummmm...roof rack tied to cage to carry spare 35's, extra exterior lighting, ummmm...i know i'm forgetting tons of stuff...custom bumpers, winch, 'rhino line' the interior and source some floor mats...new front seats (maybe buckets, dunno yet...I like having access to the cutie in the passenger seat ;) )

It never actually stops does it ;)

No doubt!!! Both the Gald and the Wag need windshield rubber and they both fill up with water here. I grew up east of the mountains where a rig could sit for 20 years with the windows down and lose little more than it's top layer of paint.

Well here's mine for right now though it's subject to change very quickly:

-Finish striping the interior
-Fix the very minor:thumbsup: but annoying rust
-Put that back together and clean everything up (vac, shampoo, all that)
-Finish spray painting exterior
-Clean the "oopses" up
-Get new door seals, door handle grommets, roof rack nuts & gromets, etc.
-Hopefully find a Rhino grille
-Get a new battery (Dad stole mine for his dang Chevy) :banghead: :banghead::banghead:
-Fix my exhaust manifold, put it back on, plug the AIR holes on the other back up (loudness getting on my nerves)
-Replace all vacuum lines
-New plugs
-Fluid changes
-Fix electric windows maybe
-Oh, and cars were meant to be driven, so put it back on the road occasionally.

Also hoping that somewhere on down the road I can experiment with TBI.

But of course there's the whole time/money factor and I still got a year before I can get a job.

Not a bad idea unless you have several FSJs.
They tend to set the agenda, not me. :fsj:

And when you get one going good, it'll wait 'till you are elbow deep into another one to show you what you missed....

My list is ever changing. Every time I open this site, I see something new I want to try on one of them....
