I just wanted to say hello to the others and introduce myself. I'm andy from NC. I just got a 1972 wagoneer from a neighbor for free. Being free it will need alot. a man was going to restore it and took alot off it but died so he never put it back together. it only has about 90K original miles but has no engine so the drivetrain that is left should be good. it was running when parked but the engine has been taken out and put in another jeep. he is going to give me a bad 305 engine with it which i am getting later it originally had a 360 auto trans. assuming a gm TH 400 it has very little rust (mostly surface). the interior is ok but some kids broke some of the windows. It has ac, ps, pb, and some other options. about the engine, from what i have read a buick or chevy 350 would make a good replacement anyway. I have some other older cars and trucks 40s-70s but this is the first jeep I have owned so I might have to ask a few questions about it form time to time this site is very informative and i'm glad i found it.

Thanks guys,
I'll get some pics in a week or two, (still using film). It is ugly with the surface rust, primer spots, most of the trim off and they tore up the grill getting the engine out. I have to get all the parts sorted out and find out what is missing. It is supposed to be all there except for the engine, rear bumper, grill, the missing windows and a few other small trim items. A plus it had the original owners manual and some other paperwork that came with it new.

I Still havn't got pics yet but i went through everything and all stainless trim is there some clips and mounting hardware is missing but not much. The interior is not bad either. The door panels were in the back with junk piled on them and had been rained on (I thought they were ruined) but not so most of the chromed plastic strips chrome peeled off but i can paint them silver. the door panels cleaned up well with about three kinds of soap and a pot scrubber sponge. I got a grille and put it in (thanks Flint) i straightened it up a little and it looks pretty good. I just tore out the carpet the floor is ok just a couple very small rust holes about 1/2 -1/4 inch dia. one under the gas pedal. The tires look ok but are old two are still 78 series probably put on in the late 70s-early 80s. it was only driven 20K miles from 84 to 06.
This one has what looks like a factory trailer brake & light switch under the steering column. a brake line attatches to it and it has 2 adjustment levers and wires coming out for brakes and lights. it is not liosted in oprions but looks factory and is painted the same color as the interior.
hopefully some Pics later. Andy
