This event was a great run, please look in "North West" for the "Meet and greet report and pics" for the well, the report and pictures...
July 10-11 of 2010 we are to have a meet and greet, trail ride and camp out.
The trial ride is for all Jeeps/Vehicles and is NOT technical, making it very family friendly, we will climb from 2000' to 6000' to a lake for lunch, swimming and there is a pottie for the delicate ones...
This outing is very camera needed, there is an immense amount of camera opportunities and will give you a once in a life time shots of scenery only God himself could have created...
We will camp depending on input either high alpine or go lower the picture is of one are higher up that is one candidate of camping...

The date is July, 10-11, 2010 and will defiantly be on regardless of participation, meaning I am going regardless of how many want to go.
We will meet up at Safe-way in Enumclaw at 10:00am on the 10th and leave around 10:30am for the hills....
For those further away there are very nice hotel/motels in Enumclaw to stay at and will help in finding/reserving a room for you...

Sounds fun... I will attend kids in tow, my brother and his family will attend in his jeep as well.
any chance you have a map of the area we will be heading to ?
my wagon is not lifted, it is all stock. Is this a trek that may be too much for my old wagon?

Sounds like it'll be a blast. If Bessie is up to par and my boss will give me the Saturday off you can count me in!

I'm putting it on my calendar as 'tentative.' ;) I'd like to go, but its going to depend on several different factors.

My Waggy wont be ready, but do you plan on doing this next year? If so I'll be there!!! I live in Buckley so the meet up would be really convenient! I have a couple other jeep friends that would want to go too. Let me know if you plan on doing this next year too!!!!

OK all...this trail can be made by all...Like I said it is family fun with major camera opertunities....We will be going up to "Lonesome Lake" North of Mt. Rainier for swimming and lunch....we will make the loop basicaly Starting from Greenwater WA. to FS-74 then switch to FS-75 and follow over the pass and on to Lonesome lake....We leave after lunch and fun and head back to FS-73 and take it accross the pass to the low lands of Huckleberry Creek where we will camp at a location close to its exit onto hiway 410 for an easy morning and ride back home...
Hope to see more and as always the plans may change for camping, but the date is set in stone so you can plan around it....

TooRisy, is this an annual event? I really wish I could go but my Wagoneer needs tires and a suspension overhaul.

This could very well be a yearly event, but being the first year and the event yet to happen we will have to play that one by ear....
As for your rig...I dont care if ya drive an old station wagon, ya dont have to be in a Jeep...This is a fun non-IFSJA type run that i would share with anyone that just likes to get out, explore and camp...This trail does not require 4wd, but a few off shoots for camera oppertunities will and ya can always take these short side trips with someone with 4wd. These side trips are along the route, we will have to stop and go in a few rigs at a time for there is not much room. BUT the main route is very easy...
I use Google Earth which is free for all to use, download the map and info file here : http://www.gigasize.com/get.php?d=pwzy21sfp3b
Here is a picture of the map...Follow the path by number, #1 is the starting place in Enumclaw WA. Mount Raineir is just south off the map picture and we are actually right at the National parks boundry...So Mt. Raineir is seriously in your face....

Man, the more I think about this trip, the more I wanna go. I think my wagoneer will be okay as long as I get the fuel system working properly again. I live so close to the starting point that it shouldn't be too much of an issue... hmm...... gota talk with the wife and work double time on the jeep.....

Well this is on and written in stone, this will not cancel... So we have about 2 months to plan and make arrangements to make this... If out of state PM me and I will help ya get a motel/hotel and make your trip as easy as can be....
This will be for a great trip and opportunity for all to get great pics of what the PNW has to offer... like the lottery, ya gotta play to win...come win on this trip, your family will love you for it...

That is close enough to home that it would be almost silly to miss :)
If I get my truck in shape I'll drive it, if the family wants to come I'll probably bring the Liberty instead.

Here is a video of some of the trail we will be traveling on... I make referrance to Sasquatch as I am a dedicated reseacher, but dont let that bother ya... Ol' Biggie is a big softy at heart, and is absolutly no threat.

I am going deep along this route to camp June 25-27 and will know the pass conditions then... But by July with this light winter we are having I am not really worried about the snow... Either way I know these roads like the back of my hand and will make a great run even if the weather or snow does not want to cooperate, dont worry...We will have a great run...

I was up in the area and crossed Haller pass where there was NO snow...so snow is gone till winter and the run will not have to worry about it at all... Gonna be fun, I was up there this weekend(June 26-28) and Mt. Raineir was standing out beautifully, we will get rare shots of the North face of the mountain...

are these roads passable by a 2 wheel drive vehicle?
Al
TooRisky
06-30-2010, 01:56 PM
Yes all the main roads are passable with 2wd, I rarely have to engage the 4wd and mostly in the snow... So no problem...
@@@@ Please note the time change, I have to bump it up to 10:00AM due to work @@@@

Looks like I'll be unable to attend.. :(
Would love to, but the rig still needs better tires for a road trip, and I'd have to be back home in time for classes Monday morning. The tires are the big thing.
Yall take lots of pictures!!

sorry folks, i'm going to have to bow out. replacing a u-joint in the pickup has been overly problematic, but wouldn't have been a big deal until my toyota (my backup driver) just blew out the oil pump seal and i have to get one of the two trucks back up and running to go back to work monday. :banghead:
i was really looking forward to this. :(

Not sure how I screwed up the dates on this one and thought it was last month.... Hmmm. Maybe 70-90 hour work weeks are a little too much.
Hope you all have fun! Can't wait to join in the next meet.
