Steering wheel...?

Does anyone have a magical way to take off a steering wheel? I tried to take mine off and snapped one of the bolts from the steering wheel puller off right at the base, I need to get the darn thing off to tighten up the steering...any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

if you got an air hammer, put your knees under steering wheel at 5 and 7 o'clock, put one hand at 12 oclock with free hand scratch your nose pick up air hammer and add some vibrations to the splined shaft the wheel is on while pulling with hand and knees on the wheel don't forget to cross your eyes and stick out your tongue and have a six pack in reserve - i have seen this method work though i have never had any luck with it myself

I use a rubber mallod and hit it from behind, always works well, you just have to be gentle when doing it.

gentle my rear, i used a 5 lb sledge to get mine off the first time! (but tapped lightly so as not to flatten my fingers if they got in the way.)
oh, you did remove the nut and/or clips that holds it on didn't you? just asking..
