I have a 67' Wagoneer with a 327 and a 3 speed standard on the column shifter. From the linkage to the shifter it is worn out. I have repaired it several times but it is too far gone for it to last long. Can anyone describe what I need to do and find to install a floor shifter?

Welcome to the board!! I also have a '67 that HAD the shift on the column. I switched everything over to a '79 running gear, but before I did, I had a three speed Daytona floor shifter that you can buy at Autozone, or similar store for about $45 or so. The install is pretty easy and the instructions will have each tranny that it can be used on to include your T-85. I still have all the linkage, shifter, and hook up's in the garage in case you can't find one. I would like to see some pics of your '67 if you every get the chance. Not to many around.

I'm pretty sure that if you can find the parts from another JEEP with a 3 speed, probally a early CJ type you can change it over to a top loader using factory parts.

I used to have a T-85 in my 66 J-3000. I'm in the process of having it replaced with a T18a. If you can find one for a decent price I recomend buying one. It has a great 6.3 granny first gear. Other than the tranny you will also need a bellhousing to tranny adapter...availible from PAW or JW Jeep. Mine ran me $150 from JW. PAW has a non-OE aluminum one for abou $75 I believe. You will also need a floor plate from a J-truck or Wago that had a floor shift or you can always cut a hole in your current one. Hope this helps.

6.3 to 1 granny first?????
My TSM for the t-18a shows a 4.02 to 1 ratio for 1st gear. Was there different ratio's for different year models??

the t18a could have a 6.39 or a 4 to 1 first, and the only way to tell is to spin the input shaft and watch the output yokes.there are no numbers on the tranny to tell you the ratio. there are many versions of scout/jeep and ford t18,t18a,and t19. my 82 t18a had reverse all the way to right and down,my 77 t18a has reverse all the way over and up.both have the 6.39 first. to my knowledge a fsj never got a 4.0 to 1 first.the t18/t18a were used manly in the j20,where a 4 to 1 first just wouldnt make as much sense.its prolly possible for a wag, chero or j10 to have a t18(which i guess could have had the higher first),but you usually see a t14a,t15a,or a t176 or t5(last 2 in 80 and up only) in those models.
also when shopping for a t18 something else to be aware of is that there are many different input shaft lengths and you must use the matching belhousing.to further complicate thigs, the v8 versions had a long spacer between the belhousing and tranny,to make up for the v8s placement further up in the engine compt, and get the shifters in the right place. the 258 versions had no spacer since the engine tucks back far into the tunnel. the cj versions had yet a shorter input shaft and a shorter bellhousing than the the fsj.so if you want a truly bolt in t18 swap,it needs to come from a truck with the same engine, otherwise crossmenber and shifter/floor mods will be neccessry.
i also highly reccomend the t18a or t18 swap. its a tough rugged tranny, and the first gear kicks a**! any top loading tranny will be less hassle, since body twist and flex will no longer cause linkage movement or binding.
one last bit:the t18 was used in 72 thru 75 and is synchro in 2nd thru 4th.the 76-79 t18a is fully synchro.starting in 1980,the t18a is now just synchro in 2 thru 4th. this part here came from the haynes manual and may not be completely correct.
anyway, this is alittle off subject from the original ques, but i hope it helps you out some anyway...

Thank-you all for the tips.
Porkchop, I am having trouble finding the Daytona Floor Shifter. If you are wiling to sell yours I would be very interested. I grabbed the only pic I had on hand of my Jeep and posted it online at http://mail.link75.org/~gimp/
