I got a pressure washer, and some engine degreaser. I sprayed everything down, keeping the air cleaner housing on, covering the distributor, and using an electrical cleaner on the electric connections. I finished it all, and now it wont stay on. If I just crank it, kinda behaves like a dead battery, but if I pump the gas, and give it gas it will crank, but it runs very rough. As soon as I let off the gas, it clunks out violently. Any ideas??

Your ignition is wet somewhere either plug wires, cap or plugs you need to spray WD-40 on everything and let it soak in also spray it in the cap and the coil tower. Also try drying off the plug wires and plugs with a rag. This happened to my J20 and thats what I had to do. No matter what you do water seems to always find a way in.

Does sound like a wet ignition but if it's cranking slow then your starting relay (on the passinger inner fender) may have gotten wet - shoot it good with wd-40.

wd40 is a good water displacer, but make sure it dries before seding any current thru.it is flamable, and the little exposion and following burning/melting of the dist cap is not a pretty sight.if water has affected a starter solenoid, then you prolly need a new one.ive blasted mine several times, and had it completely underwater in the creek without any troubles.

I'd say you got the distributor wet. Happens all the time during engine cleaning. Pull the cap, spray it and the distibutor body with WD40, blow it all out with a blow-dryer to dry the WD40, put it back together. Should be good to go.
