Is there a AMC motor rebuilder that addresses some of the motor modificatiions I've been hearing about. I'd like to have an experienced AMC rebuilder do a 360 long block for my "Keep It A Jeep" Willys/Cherokee Chief project. Haven't had any luck finding a source. There's got to be sombody that specializes in a Quaility AMC motor. Like most people I'm looking for low end power and longevity. Thanks
Dig around in the yellow pages. You're in a great town for hot rods, 4x4's, machine shops etc.
There's a shop in Spokane that deals with pretty much just Jeep. There was an article in one of the 4X mags a few months back and I can't remember the name of the place but the guy makes aluminum bodies for CJ-8's etc. He's also got a FSJ Panel Wag w/cargo doors at his place
I don't know if they do engine rebuilds but I'm sure they can steer you to someone in Spokane that does. Check with some of the local CJ crowd, I'm sure they know of the place.

I had a mainly "Ford" shop do the short block on my 401 seen in the links below, and I did the rest. I think it turned out pretty good except for the heads.
