I am thinking about buying a ste of Sport kings for my truck, but I want to know, from people who have used them, how they work in mud/sand, and so forth. I know how they work in snow, as I used them on my old Wag for winter tires. They were great. I just want to know how they perform otherwise.

The Sport Kings are made by BF Goodrich. They are their generic version of the mud terrain. I had them on my Bronco and loved them for off-road use. However, they did have a softer compound and tended to wear quicker than the Mud-Terrain

You must be talking about the Mud Kings...the Sport Kings look nothing like the Mud Terrains...they are a more All Terrian type tire. Yes I know they are made by BFG under the brand, Hood.

I purchased my 88 GW with a set of 31 inch generic AT's that I think are sport kings. I know I figured out they were the AT version of the Mud Kings. They seem to wear okay, haven't been off road much yet, but I don't think they will do very good in mud, but I have to tell you I absolutely HATE the road noise. Now I have a set of BFG AT's on another truck, and I don't mind some tire noise, but these are totally obnoxious. When I drive down the highway with the window down, it makes my left ear hurt after about 20 miles. After about 50 miles with the window down, my ear will ring for the rest of the day. It's a "slapping" kind of noise that is hideous. I would rather listen to a set of swampers. As soon as I do my lift, they're out of here, make swings out of 'em or something.

My father-in-law had a set of 33" Sport Kings on his 88 F250 deisel. It was a farm truck, and was used in the fields alot to pull grain wagons and such. He also used it to pull a huge gooseneck trailer with antique JD's on it. The seemed to have a good weight rating, and good road manners. I didn't like them offroad at all though. The didn't even like wet grass. They didn't clean out at all either. My brother-in-law went with 33" Mud Kings on his F150, and seemed to like them. They didn't hold up the best. He only played in the mud a couple of times, but I know he couldn't get up hills with them that my XJ could...but then again it would probably be the blue oval's fault not the tires. :D

Any luck with pricing for me?

180 for 35" Mud Terrains...I believe that was right. I am kinda leaning towards the 33-13.50R16 Swamper LTB's...still flip flopping around.
