I have to do this in a two car garage with an 8'-3" floor to ceiling height. I believe there will be room to roll the frame straight out the door if I use 16" wheels without tires.

My thought is to raise the whole Jeep to the ceiling and support the frame on jack stands. The body would be supported on two A-frames, one run through the front doors and one run through the quarter windows. I think that I will need to make some skids running the length of the window and door channels (front to back) to distribute the load. Once the body is unbolted, I can lower the frame to the ground.

Once the frame is out, I want to treat any visible rust with Corroless or POR-15 and then coat the pan with Duraback.

After I sandblast the frame and paint it with semi-gloss black chassis paint, I will replace the fuel tank, brake lines, fuel line and exhaust system.

My biggest concern is tearing up the body...any thoughts or other suggestions.

Thanks

How about lifting the body up with two 6x4s, under the rocker panels, long enough to be blocked up at a distance wider then the wheels... and then just roll the frame out on the steel rims?
Too simple?

I've supported car bodies this way using building scaffolding through the windows. I didn't make any supports to distribute the weight and had no problems with bending any of the weather stripping lips. My biggest problem was getting the body up high enoughto roll the frame out with wheels and tires on it. I finally dismounted a set of old wheels and installed them without tires to roll the frame out.
