looking at bigger tires and cutting the finders want 33ish tires but dont think i could get away with 3.31 gears. do any of you generouse people have a set in the 3.73 range just laying about, I would be happy take them off your hands ;)

While not ideal, you can get by with the 3.31 gears for now; the low-range will more than compensate for it off-road, and your 360 makes the torque down low where these tires will keep your rpms. It would be like running 31's on a 2.73-equipped rig, and people do that all the time.

I have 31's with my 3.31's. No problems.
Also on my '79 I have 33's. Would not know the diffrence.
Go for it. YOu will only notice minimal diffrence.

nah, thats what happens when they make you learn all of those irritating greek letters in engineering school. :D Once you start mixing a couple of different alphabets in your brain spelling goes out the window. Our fancy calculators don't have spell check :D so we never catch on.

Ah, I see; I learned the whole Greek alphabet back in college; but that was when I was joining a fraternity (three times to a match! ;) ). Situation-dependent learning being what it is, I can recite the alphabet better after a few beers...

Congratulations! I've gotta ask: when you see what us knuckleheads start planning to do with our Jeeps, like relocating suspension pick-up points, changing steering geometry, welding cast iron, etc, do you just shake your head and say to yourself "Those idiots are going to kill themselves!"?

I myself am in college as well. I am a Music Major. Majoring in jazz performance on trombone/bass trombone and minoring in education. As of right now I am a sophmore, going to be a junior in the fall. When you mix FSJ's and College there is no money you are always broke.(HA HA)

Wow, nice to see some more college students. When I first found the IFSJA and when I joined the CFSJA, I had just turned 16. In the CFSJA, the next youngest person was still about 10-12 years older than me hehe.
Where do all of you guys go to school? I'm a junior at Colorado State studying computer science.
no_one: 3.31 gears may not be ideal for 33's, but they will certainly work until you can afford to get lower gears. When your in low range, you will still be able to hold your own. I currently have 33's and 3.31 gears also.
Bob: What fraternity were you in? I just recently joined Sigma Phi Epsilon.
