Stock Muffler?

Is a stock muffler center in center out? I ordered a stock tailpipe and bought a cat, so I just want to be sure about my muffler purchase.

I have an 88 wagoneer and the muffler is offset going in and center going out.

Does the offset take it closer to the frame rail or further away? As in is the pipe from the cat closer to the tranny or the frame rail?

I'm not really sure but I believe that on a waggy it takes it closer.
