Does anyone know the stock RR for the 290-401 rockers? I'm going to try to run some small chevy roller rockers on a 401 I'm putting together for my J-20, and on my mockup, I am losing lift with the Chevy 1.5 roller vs. the stock rocker. Is the stock piece a 1.6 ratio? Also where can I get guide plates for this thing? it has the post '73 heads. Thanks.

Do a web search for Michael Baxter's homepage. He's got a list of interchangeable engine parts. I think SB Ford rockers will work in an AMC V8, but I don't know about roller rockers. Summit lists aluminum Harland Sharpe roller rockers for AMC V8, pricey though.

The stock ratio is 1.6. Aftermarket rocker arms for a small block chevy, chrysler 318 & 360, and Ford 221,289,302, & 351w, will fit if you use the 1.6 ratio, 3/8 screw in studs, guideplates, & hardened pushrods that are the correct length.
Try http://store.summitracing.com/ http://www.compcams.com/ http://www.cranecams.com/ they all make rockers for us.
I heard Isky adjustable guideplates would work, so i bought some, didnt like the way they fit, ended up getting some from american performance http://www.oldcarparts.com they were expensive about $90, but they were a perfect fit.

Thanks for the replies. 1.6 eh? Well that's why I'm not getting all the lift from my 1.5 chevy rockers. Thanks for the links too, especially the american performance one.
