My name is Sean and I have been passionate about building Buick 350s for quite a while now.... I am beginning to compile my mountains of information to write a book about Buick small blocks (225,231,215,300,340, and 350). In this book there will be a section for "readers rides" so to speak so this is your chance to get in on this fun! Please note, if anyone knows someone with a smaller jeep that is Buick powered, send them my way!
This will be the run down so copy and paste this into an e-mail, fill in your details and pics and send it to me at sean-gaskin@hotmail.com:
-Owners name and location
-Model, year of vehicle and engine size
-Total miles
-Miles on engine and year if different
-Transmission and stall speed if auto and not stock
-Rear end gear ratio
-Brand and size of rear tires
-Type of driving (mudding, trails ect)
Information about your engine:
-Rebuilt or not
-Static compression ratio (state whether estimated or measured)
-Carburetor (If you know the jetting let me know)
-Ignition (also timing specs)
-Intake manifold
-Cylinder heads (if ported and you have flow numbers add them, if valves are oversized state sizes)
-Pistons and overbore size (cast, hyper or forged)
-Connecting rod
-Camshaft (specs and how it is degreed)
-Exhaust (headers or not as well as pipe diameters)
-Any oiling modifications
-Any power adders
-Engine builder
Please give as much detail about each of the above as possible and if your engine components are stock just list stock beside the item. If unknown just leave it blank. :drivin:

Remember, don't run anything but diesel oil in your motor or you'll ruin your cam and lifters, the new gas oil will not protect them.

Nuff said. I've owned many 350 powered Skylarks. In HS in the '80's my WELL worn (first eng oil change was silver) 350-2 left many chevelle, mustang, camaro etc. owners embarrassed. Nice and loose, I guess. It would not blow up, oh and I tried. Ended up selling it to a Waggy owner for $150 in 1989 when I dropped in a built 455...
I can't wait to finally get one of my Glads back on the road this year and experience my favorite engine in a truck.
See my sig for specs on the trucks-- the J3000 has orig '69 engine with a '72 4BBL intake and Chevrolet Q-Jet added... and the J2000 has a '72 350-2 from who knows what, haven't found code stampings yet. I plan on restoring the J2000 with a clean '72 B350 I have on hand, it has a plate showing an .030 Rebuild, cam unknown. '72 vintage Q-Jet and pertronix should round it out nicely as my tow/plow/farm truck. Can't wait.
Where in BC are you??? I get to the border at Kingsgate/Eastport at work....

I am currently living in Edmonton Alberta working however I do get to Wenatchee WA often as my 70 Skylark is there at Burton Machine.... well, it's complicated. it's mostly a room issue. the jeepster engine bay is essentially the same as the cj5. they just weren't designed to house a big motor let alone a big motor and a cooling system. my pulleys are only 1.5"~ from the rad, so i've been forced to run a push fan on the front of the rad. now that i have the waggy though, the jeepster will be taking another direction, tube fenders ought to help my cooling issue and should be able to clear 38s no problem
here's some pics of my jeepster. it's painted with a pvc composite bed liner. the motor is a gs350 out of a skylark .30 over with a th400 and dana20. i'm going to go fullsize axles with a corporate rear and dana44 front.

1969 Jeep Wagoneer 49,741 Original Miles (looked at the odo today lol)
Perfect body, Zero rust, paint is dead.
350 buick TH400 Trans Dana 20 Transfer.
Tired interior, mostly everything works (speedometer jumps around, wipers work intermitantly, etc)
Things in the works...
Custom lift involving 4 new leaf's, should get about 7 inches, staying sprung under in front for now and shackle Not flipped in the rear until I find/build a Dana 60 Kingpin front.
10 Circuit Painless wiring harness (completely rewiring the jeep, its a nightmare of wires everywhere at the moment)
Going to 'rhino line' the interior
D44's with 3.90's from 77' parts waggy with Mini Spools front and rear + Warn premiums and a set of 35x10.5's
Matte black paint job (doing it myself, don't expect anything fancy)
Pull drive train and tear down, clean, inspect, paint and reseal engine/trans and transfercase/driveshafts.
POR15 the frame and underbody. (Might 'rhino line' the underbelly and just POR15 the frame)
Set up AC Compressor for onboard air to pressurize my soon to be fab'd custom 6in diameter Well Casing bumpers.
I have about 600 feet of 1.5 Diameter .120 wall seamless 4130 for a cage and rock sliders (certainly not going to use all 600 feet on it)...might go with a tight fitting Exo cage (let the flames begin ;) )
New door/window/tailgate seals/weatherstriping/etc.
Custom Stereo (4 6x9's, 4 tweets and 2 10's...nothing fancy here either...basline equipment)
In the distant future I will install my Mercedes 300D sourced 3.0l 5cylinder turbo diesel with the pump and boost turned up a notch to make around 250ft lbs. (I'm not power hungary, I'm MPG and Reliability Hungary and I should get right at 30mpg with this engine)
I'm quite certain I am forgetting lots of little things I will do while it is half torn down.
Still gathering the last few parts for my initial work...(mini spools, wiring harness, rhino liner) but will be starting the build within the next couple weeks....I will start a build thread with pics and vids...
Thanks for reading.
Nathan.

Check out V8Buick.com section for Jeeps with a Buick Heartbeat. I've owned a 350 powered '69 since 1973. Factory manifold and Q-Jet, dual exhaust. Plan on 455 swap in future. Engine doesn't like the 4:10 gears in my new axles when pulling travel trailer over speed bumps west of Denver. Mr. Ed

I am beginning to compile my mountains of information to write a book about Buick small blocks (225,231,215,300,340, and 350).
Include a decent accurate coverage of the alum Buick powered Morgan's and later Land Rovers and you can sign me up for a copy.

My 69 J-3000 sports an original Buick 350 2 barrel 4 sp 4:10 on dana 44s.
The engine recieved a total rebuild just prior to me purchasing it.
I originally got her as a backup truck for my construction business. Had been set up for pulling a fifth wheel but I removed the original rusty bed in favor of a new custom made flatbed.
I can only compare it to Chevy350-400 small blocks & a Dodge 400 that I previously owned and feel it pulled comparitively to them. Engine has decent low end power for what it is. I needed more so I retired it from the fleet and got another Dodge Cummins. Still love this old truck and continue to restore it and play with it.
Put her in a tug a war with a Mustang 62hp Skid loader (foam filled tires) and it was a draw with neither gaining any ground.

Has anybody in this thread converted the 2gv to a rochester 4mv?
I just bought a stock intake and a gs350 rochester 4v.
Was wondering if you guys had any advice?
I also have to replace timing cover and will probably end up doing the a timing chain too.
Should I go stock or double roller?

My 69 runs much better with a Q-jet. Eddy 1406 in the future, I think. Get the double roller. And a new water pump.

Here is some info on MPG for he 4 bb onto a Buick 350 in a Jeep:
http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=90804
I have also noticed a great improvement with in power and MPG using a 4bb commpared to a 2bb carb. The Q jet will get better fuel milage in most cases as well.
