I am installing a 2" open sided air cleaner on my waggy to compensate for a 1" carb spacer. It does has a fitting for the PCV.

All the smog equipment is operational.

On the backside of the stock air cleaner, is the EGR, etc. connections. Do I drill into the bottom of the new air cleaner to fit the EGR and will it function?

Are there any other options for dealing with these connections to the air cleaner? Suggestions or comments?

What year you doing this on...

Open element air cleaner is a bad idea in my opinion.
Sucks in hot engine compartment air.

The vacuum controls on the stock air cleaner can be easily bypassed & keep everything working if desired.

X2. Especially if this is on your 89. It gets really hot under those hoods. Im running a 1 inch spacer on my 2barrel and the stock air cleaner fits (barely). The stock air cleaner is restrictive, but I think the benifit of cool air is better.
