Last night the wire between the fusible link and the connection a the fenderwall burned out and I lost just my headlights. I was able to reconnect to get home, but have no idea how that could have happend without the FL burning out.
For a quick fix I cut out the link and spliced in some slightly lighter guage wire and cleaned everything up. Still no lights.
2 questions-
1. Is it possible that that took out the headlight switch or dimmer switch. I'd be suprised if both bulbs would go at the same time.
2. What can I do to find the source of the real problem. The burned wire. I don't want to just ignore the issue, but auto electric stuff certainly isn't my strong suite.
Also my Electrical service manual seemes to show an actual circuit breaker for the lights, but if I read it right it loks like it may be in the switch itself?
Any help is appreciated.
