RUSTED GAS TANK

I PULLED MY TRANSFER CASE OUT TONIGHT TO REPLACE
THE CHAIN AND PULLED DOWN THE GAS TANK ALSO.
I NOTICED THE INSIDE OF THE GAS TANK IS TOTALLY RUSTED(BUT NOT LEAKING)AND THE CLEAR FUEL FILTER
IS RUSTY COLORED. IS THIS GOING TO HURT THE ENGINE? AND IS THERE ANY WAY TO CLEAN THE TANK?

A good radiator shop can clean and seal the tank if it is not too far gone. The filter can't get all the rust out of the fuel, pull the top off the carb and you will see what I mean.
