Well some buddy's and I went out to the woods to do some shooting, made it out there fine but on the way back high centered on some ice on the way back. Luckily some guy just happened to be driving down the basin road.
I'm heading back up tomorrow morning with shovels and rope and anything else I can think of.
Anyone in the area that can help to yank me out if that plan fails? I really dont know anyone else with a 4X4.
Worried about the jeep being all alone in the woods:(:(:(

Well, there are a lot worse places to leave it overnight. Snohomish isn't so bad. Might check with Olympic 4x4 to see if they have someone in a club or something that could give you a winch line.
Voodoochiled445
12-30-2009, 08:26 PM
Yes where is Olympic 4X4, its in Snohomish right?
The truck is more near sultan to be specific.

If you were close... :banghead:
If you're near Sultan you're in logger country. Lotsa 4 wheelers around there stop in one of the tav's or the Dutchcup lounge in Sultan and ask around. Same goes for the Gold Bar and Startup areas if on the east side of Sultan.

I know there is a guy that lives down the road from my buddy's that has 2 giant diesel trucks, Broncos, quads and dirtbikes. Im thinking of asking him and throwing some money his way.
Will update tomorrow.

12-31-2009, 09:53 AM
I had that happen to me. All I had was some good rope. I took the spare off and took the tire off. Put it on one of the rears and tied one end to a tree and wrapped the other around the rim Put it in reverse Lo 4x4 and It got me out.

Ok about to head out, hope it isn't vandalized or picked thru.
Taking Etools and shovels and some picks and some gravel.
Some other people in jeeps were up there shooting near where we are, maybe Ill luck out and they are up there again and help me out.
Who knows... hope my cherokee is ok!

12-31-2009, 06:32 PM
No go.
Stuck real good, front half is on solid ice and rear tires are in slushy mud. Cant rent a wench as there are NO trees or rocks that could handle it.
Some guy in another cherokee ended up driving by on one of the access roads and tried pulling me out, didn't work.
:banghead:
Really don't have the money for a tow truck, going to knock on the door of that guys house with all the 4x4 trucks. IDK what else to do.

I was having the crazy idea of starting a good fire near by and get a big pot to boil snow and ice in to get some boiling water and pour it under my jeep.
Thanks all for the wishing of good luck.

Find someone with a good boat anchor, a Bruce anchor would be nice but a Danforth will do. Run a chain and a come along. Take some hip boots, something to drink...
Voodoochiled445
01-01-2010, 04:12 AM
Ok heading up in the morning for another stab at getting it. I think my girl's father has a come along ratchet so maybe that will work.
Also going to try jacking it up and putting some wood underneath the tires and lowering it back down. Really hope to get it home tomorrow, be a HUUUGE stress reliever.
Cant say i know anyone with a boat anchor but thats a good idea, going to bring salt and cat litter, try those 2.
Anyone know how much it might be to have a tow truck yank me out? I dont need it towed but just yanked out. I know there are multiple off road recovery tow truck business in the sultan/gold bar area (make sense), Ill give em a ring before I head out.
New years resolution..... GET MY JEEP! haha... its been stuck since last year!

Just call Olympic 4x4 and ask them if they know someone with a winch that would like to make a couple bucks pulling you out. They have a Jeep club that runs out of there I believe... for $50 you could probably get it done. A wrecker is likely to be $150. Leave your rig there over the weekend and you may not have to worry about it much longer.;)

Well Olympic is closed the next 2 days because of new years. Iv called a few towing company's and none can give me any idea how much it will cost. "We have to see it first".

Are you stuck"in" ice as in broken through a frozen puddle or stuck "on" ice and just can't get traction.
If on ice get a jug of bleach like Clorox and pour some on top of the tire tread. Then REAL easy on the gas(as in idle speed) the rig will walk out of there
I was stuck on sheer ice once a plowed flat parking lot that melted some and refroze. While I'm spinning/cussing and generally making an asshat out of myself a 70 year old woman pops the trunk of her (bought new)1950 olds and hands me a jug of bleach... "Here Sonny.. . easy on the gas"
Been carrying a jug of bleach every winter since.
Other than the tav's I mentioned above you might find some help at the Sportsmans it a local restaurant hangout right on hwy2 west end of Sultan.

Give him a call, he's a founding member of the FSJ-list, the original mailing list. He still owns and drives FSJ's and I'm sure he'll be glad to lend a hand. The worst he can tell you is no, and he won't tell you that unless you call him.

Assuming you have tried everything to get it out under it's own power... I would recommend a 4x4 club as well... Try everything first though... I once got a jeep out by twisting up several ropes tied from the jeep to a tree using a tire iron... The twisting action effectively shortened the length of the ropes and got me out. Of course my buddy had to drive home as the tire iron slipped out of my hand, took a big chunk out of my boot, bloodied my ankle and broke 3 of my fingers so yeah... Stay safe lol.
Good luck!

If I was closer I would loan ya my high lift off road jack. if you can, use whatever jack and get the vehicle off the ground. Shove what ever you can under the tires to get the diffs clear of the obstruction, put her in R and throttle down. I've always found that backing out of a situation is much easier when it comes to situations like this. Just remember, there is no such thing as stuck when you're Jeeping, just temporarily delayed:thumbsup:

Good and bad news...
Good:
I broke down and had a town company follow me up to give me a hand.
The Bad:
We rode up on people stripping it out, they stole my battery, my air cleaner, broke my back window and stole A as in ONE speaker and Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogleyed up my tranny.... oh yeah and siphened my gas.
They hit my girlfriend as they sped off around the truck that came to tow me out. We thought we had them blocked in but they got around us... THE CHASE WAS ON. the guy in the truck was on their Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley almost the whole way down the mountain and nearly fishtailed them mupltiple times. They got scared and stoped, and said "WE DID NOTHING WE JUST PULLED IT OUT OF THE WAY" as they had guilty smirks on their faces. The suspect then floored it and the chase was on again, we lost them but we got his tag and called 911. Cops ran the plate and know who it is and where he lives, going in for a photo line up tomorrow. The guy will stick out like a sore thumb, he had a 89 cherokee lifted that was beat to Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley. Tail lights were hanging off the back by the wires. dents everywhere, NO 1/4 panels or fenders at all on the jeep. They will get cought, my sister has seen their rig many times in the sultan/goldbar and monroe area.
PUNKS!!! f***** PUNKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banghead:
They were in the process of jacking my BRAND NEW Holley truck avenger, stole my altama red top and a cheesy air cleaner. Im pissed about my back window!!!! ahh so frustrating.
I knew this was going to end bad!
Lets all hope and pray they get cought!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, I am VERY thankful as I only have minimal damage. The tow operators specialized in Reiter pit recoverys and sadly they said they see this ALL the time. Usually the truck is stripped, shot up and burned.
FSJ gods were looking out for me, I feel very violated and helpless. Frustrating but I'm thankful they only got a battery, a cheapo air cleaner and ONE old half broken stereo speaker that's about 20 years old. I am more pissed they broke my window, I really wouldn't be too upset if they got what they did and my window was intact... IT WORKED TOO!!!(electric)
These guys are in BIG, BIG, BIG trouble, in the process of running from us in their jeep, they clipped my fiance, luckily she was just knocked over and is ok, they could have killed her!!! We will be looking at a photo lineup within the next few days, no worrys tho cops know exactly who the owner of the jeep is and where he lives.
Sad there are people in this world that act like this, scummy cowards.
After hearing the horror storys of the Reiter stick ups and all the ones Iv just heard about this place Iv been going... I need to find somewhere safe to Jeep! Sadly most places probably aren't much safer:(
If anyone is in the snohomish county area and sees a beat to crap '89 Cherokee with the license plate 322-KIF, please call 911.

Very thankful for Tatsadasayago, he is helping more then he will ever know as I was heart broken when I saw the window broken in my pride and joy. Specially when that property is your Jeep!!! With kind offers like his, they really help with the anger, frustration and pain of it all.

My wife is ex-military police and I can tell you if there is an eyewitness to a Vehicular Assault which obviously occurred they should do the lineup and charge him. # wittinesses is plenty. Especially since one of them was a tow truck driver. Who was not an associate prior to the incident.

Something to consider;
I don't go anywhere without my digital camera these days.
Since batteries are cheaper than 35mm film a person can take photos all day long and not be wasteful.
Should something go sideways, the camera is less than 10 seconds away from going into action. In this case the perps, their vehicle, plate and damage done could have been documented on the spot.
Unfortunately most law enforcement cannot or will not do much about theft or vehicle damage such as this. The vehicular assault issue not being dealt with is surprising however.
It sucks that you can't leave your stranded rig out in the hills without having some needledick(s) stripping it. Good thing it wasn't me because somebody AND somebody's rig would have had numerous holes.........

Update, my fiance has talked to them and she said the deputy had talked to him this morning and he admitted to being there this time. The deputy said he gave a totally different story then us and is now having one of his buddy's that were in the truck call and give his story.
Cop said that wont be till Tuesday, that gives him 4 days for the guys to get their story to match up ..... F****** idiot cops. Wow... Even I know you cant let something like that wait. They definitly arent taking anything seriously.
I am getting more pissed about these cop's lack of effort and stupidity in handling the case. The guy is still out free on the streets and will be till tuesday!!!
If these guys get to go free because "there's not much we can really do at this point" (Snohomish County sheriff's signature catchphrase) then we should have as many people from IFSJ.org to call in and give their disapproval of how they handled this theft and assault case.
Whats the point of having cops???....

Did your fiance have any bruising or markings from the vehicular assault? If so take pictures of the injuries for evidance and submit those to the police and PRESS CHARGES. I you charge them the cops have to do something about it. If the cops don't want to ask for copies of all the police reports and go directly to the District Attorney. You might also want to let the police know that your going to be talking to the local papers regarding the incident and the police departments lack of intrest in protecting and serving the citizens of your county. That might get some action for ya.
Don't let these A**Holes get away with it.

01-03-2010, 11:22 AM
I agree Have her press charges, take pictures of the bruising, take copies of all 4 witnesses statements, and if the police won't serve them a warrant on Monday morning, go to the D.A.
Maybe nothing can be done about them vandalizing the Jeep, but something CAN be done bout the chicke****s hitting your girl!!!
The paper may also be a good route, An assault charge is not something they can walk away from lightly.
Voodoochiled445
01-03-2010, 01:29 PM
Yes that is the route we are taking, problem is she has no bad bruising or scuffs, she has a little mark on her shin from loosing her balance when they hit her but she told them she had no injures or bruising!!! Gah, I was frustrated with her for that.
My friend's parents all work in legal stuff, they have been telling me the in and outs of the laws. They are giving me lots of good info. I have a lot of people behind me on this case. Lets hope something good comes out of this.

most of the time I have been told that a person in the vehicle of question cannot serve as a witness. such as the buddy in the car that hit your girl. but since the rest of you were out side of vehicles, you all can act as witness. Also even if she doesn't have marks, it is still assault with witnesses.

Jokes that in some towns will start pulling you over for broken tail lights if you make them look bad. Not saying to not stand up for yourself, Just saying choose how you fight carefully. The aren't always right and not ever cop is bad, but some can be children with a stick. The officers in our town will pull you over if you have a tail light out on an older vehicle but leave ya alone if you are driving a lexus or beemer. Ask me how I know. when he figured out I actually lived in the town he backed down and let me go with a "get it fixed" and some other attitude. I know what you may be thinking, but even when I know I am in the right, I still treat the officer with total respect. (whether their actions merit it or not.

Those guys recognize me and dont bug me cus they know I live in town and cause no trouble.
Snohomish sheriff on the other hand.... This isn't the first time Iv had property stolen and they came out to the call only to act like they were being put out.

Yeah... Ravensdale, Sellic, maybe we should just list it by county... Whatcom was pretty decent. I worked with those guys on some stuff up there and for the most part they were fairly stand up. I've got some pretty funny stuff to tell you about Island County.... and some of them were pretty cool but it's pretty funny what a lil adrenaline will do to a bunch of guys with guns when it's been too quite for too long. :D I liked 'em enough I won't embarass them by putting this out on the web. They left me alone when I asked them to in a manner they could understand.

I promised pictures.
OH YEAH LOOK THE ROCK IS STILL ON THE FLOOR IN MY BACK SEAT! a**holes, I should take that same rock and throw it thru his back window haha
If Tats rear window falls through I got one sitting in my garage you can have. I have family up in Washington, Battle Ground and Kelso, it's a little different up there. Sorry to hear of the trouble.

Now... what's up with Snohomish... they are blaming you for making work for them that takes them away from their dougnuts and their partner's wives.
I guess Snohomish just made the "List".:D

Call the papers. Emphsize that these guys are a threat to public safety (which they are... The fact that they did not injure or kill your GF was just luck plain and simple). I used to think law enforcement was a position to be respected but I have lost all of that. The country is filled with BS laws designed to harrass and intimidate and THEY get enforced (driving without a taillight? Ticket! Can't pass smog? No registration! Walking your dog off a leash? Ticket! and coming soon: Don't want heath insurance? To F***ing bad!) while laws who's purpose is to protect people get ingnored....
When will be wake up and realize that the police (like pretty much EVERY OTHER branch of government) have become an instrument of repression and not a tool to make people's lives better?
Time for a revolution in my book.

/\ AMEN!!!
Will be calling the sheriff again, to ask how progress is going... HAHA
I will make it clear (I wont be a A hole about it) that a crime was committed against me, I go their license plate number and the guy is STILL out free.
Makes NO sense, they put more effort in giving me a speeding ticket and taking me to court then they have for this crime against me... Well of course!!! they get money for tickets... this... this is just a waste of their time right?
The Tcase wasnt in neutral, it was in 4lo (the way I left it when it got stuck). I felt it go down into neutral then down again into 4hi, I have no idea what was going on with my Tcase or my trans but they work flawlessly.
I am giving them time to call me back before I contact the paper, it just makes them look worse the more my calls go unanswered.

/\ would feel great to "give back" their rock BUT knowing my luck, Id get aressted and serve some type of punishment while this guy goes free.
Talked to the officer today, he said the other guy has yet to give his statment, I asked why cant an arrest be made since I caught them in the process and have their license plate number. His reply "Just because you say it happened doesn't mean it did".
I have 3 other people as witnesses and 2 are neutral parties (tow truck drivers)
Found some more damage on the jeep this afternoon, they were trying to bust out my side window with rocks as the back quarter panel and roof have dents in it about the size of the rock thats in my back seat.

Snohomish will investigate this with the same voracity that they would investigate your complaint your neighbor was brewing meth or the same as if you left your keys in your rig and then reported it stolen. If you make trouble for them... don't think it won't come back on you as you'll find out real quick that side of them you don't want to know. This is a county where the head of the prison is an illegal alien (ok, was at the time he was arrested until your attorney general... now gov got him off the hook and got him his job back. Don't think you can google info on this, it was about '96 and Gregoire covered it up... I doubt few outside the prison, and even on the prison staff, knew for that matter... excluding those who saw the warden handcuffed). I think you've had enough trouble already. If you don't like they way they do things (or don't do them) there then I suggest leaving for your own benefit. As surely as they can turn their back there can be all kinds of things that they do see, that they do arrest for that never happened but you will pay the price for one way or another and if you think you can out escalate things with them... you might have some rude awakening coming your way. Right now, consider yourself ahead. If they were actually doing thier job they would have impounded your vehicle and printed it and you wouldn't get it back until after the trial that will never happen.

Elliot makes an intresting point and it's good advice. I have said stick to your guns and get justice for yourself. But remember that I don't live there and altough my advise is well intentioned it may not be in your best intrest to make a huge deal out of this. As Elliot said they can bring you a whole heap of pain if they so desire. Who's a judge gonna believe you or a cop. I'm asshamed to say it but this is the world we live in and it sounds to me like where you live in Washington is one of those places where justice is somewhat blind. If the cops in your area will turn their backs on a meth lab. Your probably just lucky to get your rig back in as good a shape as you did. Elliot sounds as if he knows the area your in well so I think I would heed his advice and just fade into the mist so to speak and let Karma do it's thing on the violators of your rig.

This is madness!! about two years back, my uncle's chevy pickup had it's tires slashed. And when Mesa (Arizona) PD came out to our place, they took fingerprints off the truck and said, "If we find anything, we'll call you."
It's been two years, where are you Mesa PD?
And to make it worse, they got fingerprints that probably came from me, the slasher, and my friend.
And it is sad to hear what you are dealing with VoodooChiled, if all else fails, have someone else "Finish" the job for you ;)

I find it crazy 4 eye witnesses aren't enough to put these guys in jail. Its not like I came back to my truck and had no clue who done it. WE CAUGHT THE GUYS UNDER MY HOOD!!! They very could have killed my fiance!
I posted an article on craigslist about what happened and have been getting a lot of responses. Seems this is VERY common on the sultan/goldbar trails, tweakers and white trash scope the trails for stuck, stranded or parked vehicles on the trails, break into them and burn them down.... Sad because they can get away with it, no problem.
I have gotten responses from my craiglist postings of fellow jeepers and baby jeepers that hit the sultan/goldbar trails often and said they will keep an eye for me. Some have said they will follow the SOBs and tell me exactly where they live.
Lot of people are supporting me and helping me out, the victims unite and need to take a stand.

Pouring a bottle of dawn dish washing soap in the gas is said to cause to seize but I am really not sure this works... Same with sugar.
Best bet would be to get yourself one fo those things for adding oil at odd angles (its like a cylinder/piston thing with a short piece of tube... About $5) and carefully fill the air box with water... A hydrolocked engine makes from some nasty repairs especially if its hydrolocked at higher RPMs.

Just my opinion. Your ideals of revenge will place you in the same arena as these other douchebags. I agree that a person should allways be prepared to defend themselfs.... no doubt at all. Should you carry a shotgun and just wait for the next ahole to mess with ya and then take out your anger on them for this issue? I agree you should be carefull and step back for awhile. The local P.D. will not forget this incident - you and your report are on paper - it has already been reported, with the perpetrators license numbers. So now if anything happens to them, you will be one of the first persons to be investigated. Do not get all worked up on the - what if's and this could of happends - it sounds like the aholes smashed you back window and stole your battery. Do not get a criminal or felony charge for $400.00 worth parts.
You are a young person and you may as well decide 'right now' how you will deal with these issues in the future, because you will have more of them. The last thing you want to do is to become a angry man and live a life of - having a score to settle. So forgetaboutit, moveon-your better than them, get the **** out of that town, or never get stuck and leave you truck out in the woods again. Again just my opinion, I have a 18 year old son so I think - I understand.
I have been in your situation. I had my revenge, It was the dumbest thing that I have done in my life. Hankrod

Well I do understand all that you are saying about "revenge" but thugs do this, cops do nothing and they get away with it. They face no consequence to their illegal actions, none by cops nor public.
I'm sorry but I am not one to lay down, submit and be a victim, yeah we can HOPE karma gets them but cmon, Its obvious this isn't the first time these pr*cks have done somthing and has gotten away. If he faces no consequences what does he have to fear to keep him from doing this again?
The whole protect and serve that cops swear by is just a bunch of poopy they say to make us, the public feel better. Police or not, its still a dog eat dog world out there, this guy has stolen and destroyed my prized property.
I'm not just going to be a victim and move on.
I will take every legal action possible to take this guy out! Its not promising but I will try!

Cops are not a deterrent. If thugs are scared of getting hurt DURING the act - they won't do it.
Thugs are not scared of revenge. They look for easy targets (rig with good parts stuck/abandoned).
Stay above it. It sucks, but let this change the way you act in the future. It is an expensive lesson, but those are the ones that stick with us.

I Know how you feel and its normal - I'm no one to say or be a authority on what you should do - its just my opinion. When I was 22 yrs. old, I went into the Army Reserves. When I got back I found my 69 GTO stripped in my girlfriends - dads farm shed. She knew who did it and was scared of them and he was 81 years old, so she didnt do anything about it. After some investigation I found she was correct. So I waited and watched. One night I seen them at the local bar untill closing. I followed them home and watched them through the windows and saw them start to party again and they where cooking somthing. I walked into the kitchen, picked the pan off of the stove and whacked them both in the head with it and gave them a few other kicks and punches. I'm not bragging, they where drunk as skunks. Anyway, they reported me to the P.D. and I was charged with assault and battery - felony charge. I was lucky that the charges got reduced to disorderly conduct, a non-felony charge. I did have to pay for there medical bills, almost $2,000.00 and I never got any of my car parts back. To speak of Carma - both of them where dead within 8 years of then. Booze and drugs can waste a life real quick. Hankrod

If anyone is in the snohomish county area and sees a beat to crap '89 Cherokee with the license plate 322-KIF, please call 911.
If it's who I think it is, his father will hear about it! You need to join the http://nw-wheelers.com group and NEVER wheel alone. That said, were you in an out of bounds area? If you were there is now a fine up to $10K for being there. Reiter is closed down (which REALLY sucks!) supposedly only to clear the area up and any vehicles caught in there will now be impounded.

Iv been dealing with the stress by getting the jeep back together, I found my original air cleaner (much quieter anyways), got a new battery and cleaned out all the glass. It took my forever to get all the glass out, sweeping and vacuuming. My dog loves ridding in the Cherokee so I had to make sure to get ALL the glass.... real pain, was everywhere. Found an old speaker laying around, now I have mismatched speakers... oh well its a rig!
Got a new locking gas cap as mine went missing, guess they tried siphoning my gas. Old one was broke anyways so this was a good excuse to get a new one.
I was able to remove the frame of the old broken window off of the electric window tracks, so all I need is the back window and its back in business. It looks to be a very easy task so I am relieved.
Love this cherokee.:drivin:
