hey guys, i just bought an aussie locker to put in the rear dana 44 of my 1990 g-waggy, and i noticed it doesn't have the slots to put the c-clips back in. the part number on their site is the same for front or rear, so does that mean that my axle is a non c-clip? or does it mean that they were wrong about the same locker working in both axles? i don't really like front lockers when the rear is open, so if this isn't the right one, i'm gonna try to trade for a rear one....
thanks for your input!

I think the newer axles are non c-clip.
What year is your truck?
BTW, I have an aussie in the front (ARB in back) and it works great up front too.

The rear D44s are non-c-clip axles (from 74-91, that I have seen). There is a 4 bolt flange that is in the drum brake area that needs to be unbolted and then the shafts can be pulled out.

thanks guys.... i'm guessing it's similar to the dana 35c, then, where ya hafta slidehammer the shafts out? is this a pretty strong axle? like 35's would be ok? i know it's strong on an xj, but the big waggy is probably heavier:rolleyes:

35s are fine. As long as the shafts, R+P, bearings, etc. are in good shape and set up properly, you shouldn't have a problem.
