What is everyone using for alloy axle upgrades for their wide track AMC 20? It looks like Alloy USA has a setup that might work? I would rather upgrade to alloys and use my stock shafts for trail spares if I can. I have an 83 Cherokee Chief WT.

I am just running stock axles.

That reminds me, I need to find spares. Do I need one spare shaft or two? (Are they basically the same length).

Doesn't BJs offer alloys for the AMC 20?

Axle shafts for "centered" diffs are different lengths, 44s as well. -ok- I looked and don't see them. I think Brent said he could look into it if someone was interested. Geez, I can't remember exactly. Worth a PM or email to them...

Do I need one spare shaft or two? Technically you need 4 if you want all the bases covered, front & rear, left & right ;)

Yeah, I will just go with carrying rears. If I brake a front one I can just pull the axle out. ;) Didn't know this was possible till I saw Kevin do it after breaking a front axle trying to unstick himself from the mud. Or maybe it was his Bro that got stuck.

we used to carry them, but due to an incredibly low purchase rate, and losing a ton of $$, we opted not to have them made anymore.

You can probably get them from Moser. They custom build axle shafts and their quality is excelent. Sometimes they will have you send them your OE axles so they can be sure they get them perfect.

when i had a my cj and spun a hub i got some from superior axle of the quadratec parts catalog...they had forged 1 pieces and i beleave alloys also. I was running 33's with the 258 and i forget what gearing but i went with the regular 1 pieces and never had a problem after that. Think that kit only ran me 200 bucks.

Those are very different axles from an FSJ M23 though. The FSJ axles are single piece from the factory, and are much much wider. The CJ axles are cheap as they are mass produced. I would expect to pay around 350-400 for a set of FSJ axles.
